T he standard business mileage rate in the U.S. for business use of vehicles for the second half of 2026 is now 76 cents per mile, the Internal Revenue Service announced in the July 13 Internal Revenue Bulletin . This is an increase from 72.5 cents per mile for such travel during the first half of the calendar year (Jan. 1- June 30). Oil prices have risen dramatically since U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran began in late February, essentially closing down the Strait of Hormuz, a key passage for ships delivering oil, natural gas, and other resources to the world.
