a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the Lord of hosts hath spoken it” (Micah 4:3,4). “ They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea” (Isa. 11:9). God is working wondrously in Israel on behalf of His chosen people. He is taking them back to the land He gave to their forefathers to prepare them to receive their Messiah. He is doing His part to bring the Jews back to Himself. God grant that each one of those who read these lines may do his or her part to lead the Jews to Christ: Let us ask God to give us divine love for the Jews. Let us pray earnestly day by day for their conversion. Let us witness to the Jewish people around us, and seek to lead them into the glorious light of the gospel. Let us give the Word of God to Jews in America and Europe; and let us also give God’s Word quickly to the thou sands of Jews from many lands who are going back to Israel in unbelief. God is using His Word to save souls there; and the Testaments may be wit ness to many Jews during the Tribula tion. We will appreciate your co-opera tion in prayer and gifts as we continue to give New Testaments to Jews in Israel and throughout the world. Long ago God said to His servant Abraham, “ I will bless them that bless thee.” That promise has never been re voked. All history has proved its truth fulness. Every nation and every indi vidual that has blessed the Jews has been blessed of God. And He will bless you as you love the Jews, as you pray for them, as you give them God’s Word, and as you seek lov ingly and patiently to lead them to Christ! “ Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved” (Rom. 10:1). The father did not mean that his son had ceased to exist, but that he was separated from him, and in the far country. Paul has the same thought in mind in Ephesians 2:1, where he says, “ You hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins.” In James 2:26, “ The body without the spirit is dead.” Physical death also means separation of the spirit from the body. Bear this always in mind because the Russellites and other annihilationists claim that death means absolute non-existence. to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, everyone that shall be found written in the book” (Daniel 12:1). In Matthew 24:21 and 22, our Lord speaks of “ great tribulation.” He says: “ For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” After the tribulation, the Lord Jesus Christ will come to judge His enemies and to deliver His chosen people Israel. God will fulfill the promise given to the early disciples, “ This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11 and Matt. 24:30). This coming of the Lord Jesus “ in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory” will be the greatest and most glorious event in the history of the Jews. The prophet Zechariah gives a graphic picture of the return of Christ: “ And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his first born” (Zech. 12:9,10). As the Jews look upon the pierced hands and feet of the Lord Jesus Christ, they will be deeply convicted of their sin of rejecting Him throughout the long centuries of the Christian era, and will “mourn for him as one mourneth for his only son.” Then their sorrow will be turned into joy as they accept Him, with one accord, as their Saviour and Messiah—and the nation of Israel will be born again in a day! Many of the Jews will go forth as flaming evan gels of God’s Son to all nations. Then will begin a period of a thou sand years of unparalleled blessing and prosperity for the peoples of the earth. It will be the glorious millennium, the golden era, about which the prophets have spoken and poets have sung for ages past. Christ will reign in Jerusa lem over all peoples, and kindreds and tribes and tongues. Under the reign of this beneficent Ruler there will be no more war: “ And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks: nation shall not lift up
