THIS FATHER’S DAY, I’M CELEBRATING MY SON ‘Dr. Dolittle Baby’ Puts ‘Boss Baby’ to Shame!
I hope you’re not tired of stories about my son, Bennett, yet, because Father’s Day is this month, and I plan to keep them coming! I can’t say enough great things about the little guy and how
Although he’s still just a tyke, Bennett already loves the animals back. That’s where the Dr. Dolittle thing comes in. He was over the moon when we took him to our friend’s farm the Saturday before Easter and he got to see the baby chicks, goats, and bunnies. They had at the Easter egg hunt too. Later, we took him to see my dad at the hardware store where he works, and my dad showed him how to gently pet the chicks they had there. He seemed to really enjoy it!

much fuller he makes my life. As I mentioned before, my pets feel the same way.
Lately, I’ve started to think that Marah and I might have a tiny Dr. Dolittle on our hands!
It all started when we brought Bennett home from the hospital. From day one, Hershey laid beside him whenever he could, and when he came in from outside, the first thing he did was look around the house for Bennett and check him over to make sure he was okay. Six months later, he still does the same thing! On top of that, seeing Bennett is his No. 1 priority every morning. As soon as Hershey wakes up, he scratches on our bedroom door to let us know he wants to come in and say hi.
Sometimes it still blows my mind that Bennett is mine and I’m a dad. He is already so much more animated than he was a few months ago. He makes all kinds of noises, stares wide-eyed at everything, and loves to sit in the seat my stepmom bought him and swing his tiny arms at the music-playing elephants that dangle from the mobile. He won’t stop until he smacks them. He’s also rolling over now and has even started pranking me and Marah — if he’s not in the mood for tummy time, he’ll cry until we pick him up, even though nothing is wrong! So far, my favorite moments with Bennett are the times when he falls asleep on my shoulder when I get up with him at night or when he smiles at me with those big blue eyes. I’m still new to fatherhood so I don’t think I’m qualified to give much dad advice yet, but the No. 1 lesson I’ve learned so far is to soak up my time with Bennett and live in the moment. All of the other things demanding my attention can wait.
The cats are right there, too. They’re obsessed with Bennett and always want to lie beside him when he’s sleeping. (Although sometimes, cats being cats, they also try to step on his face!) Our other dog, Rock, loves Bennett too. He is constantly trying to lick him! I thought this was just a Rock thing, but it turns out animals in general think Bennett is lovable and lickable. A few months ago we took him to a local creamery that has delicious homemade ice cream so that Marah and I could get a few scoops. They happened to have a calf there, and it wouldn’t stop licking Bennet’s foot! Maybe it’s that new baby smell.
If you’re a longtime member of the dad/granddad/stepdad club, I’d love to hear your fatherhood advice! Feel free to
email me tips at Josh@Chiro1Source.com or share them next time you call in to place an order.

KALE, SEAWEED, AND OTHER NOT‑SO‑NEW SUPERFOODS

There’s nothing so trendy as a new superfood or diet, and the “in vogue” ones change constantly. Older readers may remember the Atkins diets and other fads of the early 2000s, but younger ones may not even remember a time before the paleo diet was a thing — and it’s already almost a thing of the past. Many things we associate with these trends, though, are anything but new. We see this most clearly with the grains we turn to in the name of health. Westerners generally wouldn’t be familiar with quinoa, amaranth, teff, or kamut if it weren’t for their presence in the hippest healthy-eating Instagram feeds. Many of these foods hail from Africa or the Far East, so it’s understandable we don’t know them all — but there’s nothing really new about them. People in the Americas and the Old World have eaten quinoa for 3,000–5,000 years. Teff, which is technically a grass seed, was one of the first domesticated plants, emerging thousands of years ago in what is now Ethiopia.
Alternate sources of protein and fiber show a similar trend. Seaweed — the perennial favorite of Twitter dieters everywhere — has been consumed in China, Korea, and Japan since before recorded history. If you know anything about recorded history in those regions, then you know that’s a long time! And kale, whose reputation precedes itself, has been cultivated since at least 2,000 B.C. in Greece, Asia Minor, and other parts of the Mediterranean. So, the next time you dig into your favorite health food, take a moment to Google what you are eating. You might be part of a long line of human beings who have turned to that food for sustenance over the millennia!

‘Dr. Dolittle Baby’ Puts ‘Boss Baby’ to Shame! 1 Superfoods Are Not So New ... 2 Prevent Stress and Save Money with Auto-Ship 2 Meet the Latest Smart Massager 3 How This Entrepreneur Found Success 4
Following your passion can take you to some pretty unexpected places, but few entrepreneurs can personally attest to that as well as Lungile Mhlanga, the founder of Treats Club. This innovative company offers a unique approach to getting customers freshly baked goods, even when COVID-19 spread across the world. During college, Mhlanga had a part-time job as a makeup consultant with Benefit Cosmetics. She loved this work so much that she dropped out of college to work there full time. A few years later, she took a position working for MAC Cosmetics at Harrods, a famous London department store. Honing her customer service skills, she soon ended up becoming a manager and trainer for MAC, working in Dubai, the Middle East, and India. After she quit her job at MAC, Mhlanga found herself back in London, wondering what to do next. She recalled the praise she had received for some of her baked goods, and that was when her foray into the baking business started.
Mhlanga began posting some of her baked goods on Instagram, even scoring her former employer, MAC Cosmetics, as a corporate customer. Then, as fortune would have it, she got a chance to go on “An Extra Slice,” a sister TV show to the popular series “The Great British Bake Off.” On the show, Mhlanga was selected as “star baker,” validating her desire to turn her passion for baking into a “proper business.” And so, Treats Club was born. Mhlanga made tasty treats, including hot doughnuts, for customers at markets all over London — and not even a pandemic could stop her. Mhlanga simply pivoted into her new circumstances without much fuss, putting together kits that customers could use to make her hot doughnuts themselves. After being featured on popular morning TV show “Sunday Brunch,” she had over 200 orders for the kits. Mhlanga continues to gain notoriety for her baking prowess, and as long as she’s willing to adapt and follow her passions, that success won’t stop anytime soon.
