She is certain that Glengarry District High School will have a team and that it will provide good com- petition at EOSSAA if any of its athletes are matched against VCI. Qualifying for EOSSAA this year as VCI’s entries in the Eastern Ontario regio- nal championships are Logan Hallahan in midget class 1500-metre long-distance running, Rebecca Cummings in junior triple jump, Natalia LaRosa in midget- class high jump, Alex Brunet in senior high jump, and Conner Allard-Remender in junior 400-metre.
Five athletes from Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute will be in Kingston next week to represent the school at this year’s Eastern Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association’s Track and Field Championships. The five finished in the top ranks in their categories at the Prescott-Russell High School Track and Field Cham- pionships, May 8, at the Terry Fox Field in Ottawa. VCI fielded a squad of 24 to the PR track meet, making it one of the largest teams attending the event this year. “We did pretty good,” said Ken McLeod, co-coach for this year’ VCI track
