"M y soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him” (Psa. 62:5). When you are praying, let there be inter vals of silence, reverent Stillness of soul, in which you yield yourself to God, in case He may have aught He wishes to teach you or to work in you. Waiting on Him will become the most blessed part of prayer, and the blessing thus obtained will be doubly precious as the fruit of such fellowship with the Holy One. . . . If you keep silence before God and give Him time, He will put thoughts into your heart that may be of unspeakable blessing to yourself and others. — A ndrew M u r ray .- APRIL 27 Treasures “ Ye are Christs; and Christ is God’s” (1 Cor. 3:23).

"Y e . . . have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him” (Col. 3:8-10). There is nothing the world so wants as holy men. The cause of Christ is paralyzed because of sin—sin in believers. The natu ral man will always take sides against God when you press him close, and say, “ God isn’t going to punish sin. He wouldn’t do this or that.” But the new man ought al ways to justify God, and take sides with Him against sin. There ought to be that difference between God’s children and the children of the world; and when people say the punishment is severe and unjust, we should side with God, and say, “ Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” —D. L. M oody .
