out last July and witnessed the naming and of a lodge in Hemet, CA in honor of Bro. Nicholas. We named it John Nicholas Lodge #120. So yes, there's been some influential people in my life as well as in Masonry. Harold Murell was just as influential, I loved to listen to him talk. And tell the stories about Prince Hall Masonry in California as he knew it. SGIG Matthews : Sounds like you held the line on what we as Free & Accepted Masons are supposed to do. Also, as leaders, as men, and the improvers of men. SGIG Blue : Yes, and today, I still try to do that. We got 45 potential new members coming through in June to become Master Masons before our annual conference, which takes place in July. I've got some data to provide to each one of those new guys, so they all know something about the California Jurisdiction itself. I will also give them a copy of the Digest. Which is our Journal that we publish annually or semi - annually. We would like to publish four times a year, but since everyone is moving to online models, hard copies are becoming scarce. But it is hard to replace that handout in my opinion, there is nothing like paper and ink. SGIG Matthews : So, I am really thankful for the time that you contributed to our cause as you sat and talked about your professional and Masonic journeys. I am thinking there will be a Part II coming from this interview because I know there's so much more that we didn't touch on and would be great for you to share.
