POLAND EAGER FOR THE SCRIPTURES The door is open for Bible distribution throughout Poland. Your prayers and gifts will support and strengthen our world-wide ministry among the Slavs. Our orphanage in Poland, printing of gospels and tracts in the vernacular, the support of our Missionaries, our Radio Evangel, plus cries for relief from Europe are straining our resources. God’s people providing, we shall distribute the Word and relieve distress. Your fellowship prayerfully invited as the Lord leads. Literature FREE. Write today for information. A BABY IN A BASKET-BOAT (Continued from Page 15) When Miriam saw that the princess spoke kindly, she stepped out of her hiding place and said, “ Shall I go and get a Hebrew woman to nurse the little baby?” When the princess said, “ Yes, you may go,” Miriam ran as fast as she could and called her mother. I feel sure the king’s daughter knew that the happy woman who came hurrying to her was the baby’s mother, but she only said, “ Take the child and nurse him for me, and I will pay you.” So the mother and Miriam took the baby—whom the princess named Moses —back to their home where the father and little brother Aaron, were waiting for them. And now the baby Moses was safe, for the king’s daughter had said that they could keep him. Now he could coo and laugh and cry as much as he wanted to. God had helped the family to make it safe for the baby Moses. —Elizabeth McE. Shields in the midst of them. It does not seem in error to me to call this a special family altar promise to family-altar families. While it reaches out to any place where two or three are gathered, yet it has its heart and center and perfect fulfillment in the worshiping family gathered around God’s Word. This promise ex plains the wonderful sense of love, har mony, peace and tranquility that come into the family circle through worship. The whole family life moves in the light and beauty of that experience. It is easy to forgive one another after we have been on our knees together at Jesus’ feet. The mistakes of our loved ones are not so annoying or unbearable after we have heard them pray for us at the family altar. Family problems and family life look different in its clear light. The fam ily that gathers together for prayer and worship knows the joy and blessing of God’s presence in its midst. “ When 1 Listen to Bible Stories published by the John Knox Press, Richmond, Virginia.
