March 2023 TPT Member Magazine

A NOTE FROM SYLVIA It is March in Minnesota: Will it come in like a lion or a lamb? One thing I do know is that at TPT, March means on-air pledge. As a non-profit media organization committed to serving our community, TPT relies on our members and donors for support. Public media is a local, independent, and trusted source of programming created for and with the community, and our over-the-air broadcast is offered free of charge. Our pledge drives serve as an important source of support, and we hope you will tune in for some great new programs — including live cooking shows from TPT’s studios on March 4. March is also Women’s History Month, and we have programming celebrating some exemplary women. I am looking forward to American Experience: Becoming Helen Keller on Monday, March 20 at 9 p.m. on TPT 2. This biography recounts the complex life and legacy of the author, advocate, and human rights pioneer. On March 27 at 8 p.m. on TPT 2, Minnesota Experience will kick off a six-week run with Citizen , a documentary that explores Minnesota women’s fight for the right to vote. We close out the month on March 31 at 9 p.m. on TPT 2 with American Masters: Roberta Flack, an intimate look into Flack's artistry, life, and triumphs over racism and sexism within and outside the recording industry. Your contribution to TPT is an investment in education, arts, culture, history, public affairs, and critical health and safety information for all members of our community. Thank you for supporting access to public media and thank you for investing in TPT.

Sincerely,

Sylvia Strobel President and CEO, Twin Cities PBS
