Los conventos y monasterios han quedado obsoletos y fuera de contexto en la ciudad, convertidos en claustros casi inhabitados. El caso escogido para abordar la problemática es el Monasterio de las Agustinas y el objetivo del proyecto es abrir la manzana hacia la ciudad. Se pretende rescatar el sector de estilo neorrománico alemán del inmueble, conservando su programa original. El resto del monasterio, de adobe, se modificará en función de respetar y/o potenciar la tipología. Se integran dos nuevos volúmenes en los puntos de acceso, siendo conectores del exterior urbano con el interior del claustro. Convents and monasteries have become obsolete and out of context in the city and become almost uninhabited cloisters. The case chosen to address the problem is the Monastery of Las Agustinas and the aim of the project is to open the block to the city. The intention is to recover the German neo-Romanesque style of the building, retaining its original program. The rest of the monastery, made of adobe, will be modified in order to respect and or enhance the typology. Two new volumes are integrated in the entrances, connectors of the urban exterior with the interior of the cloister.
