NICOLÁS MORAGA Parque Cultural Ruinas de Chambeque Ruins of Chambeque Cultural Park Profesores guía Teachers: Roberto Burdiles, Ignacio Bisbal Universidad del Biobío Las ruinas del sector de Chambeque, en Lota, representan el núcleo del auge y decadencia de la extracción carbonífera en Chile. Este escenario –hoy abandonado– se contempla como un importante contenedor de la memoria y la historia en torno a la industria. Sobre esta condición se proponen tres tipos progresivos de intervención (ruina como vestigio, recorrido y soporte), a través de la inserción de artefactos arquitectónicos que median entre la escala industrial y la humana. Se articulan nuevos usos, un museo subterráneo que dialoga con las preexistencias y un centro de creación de arte y tecnología. The ruins of the sector of Chambeque, in Lota, represent the core of the boom and demise of coal mining in Chile. This scenario, now abandoned, is seen as an important container of memory and history of the industry. On this condition three progressive types of intervention are proposed (the ruin as trace, route and support), through the insertion of architectural artifacts that mediate between the industrial scale and the human scale. New uses are articulated, an underground museum dialogues with the pre-existing and a center for the creation of art and technology.
