The design strategy of this home was the product of a rigorous study of the housing typology of the sector, where the predominant semi-detached houses of white painted brick still remain from the "garden house" developments. Based on this research, we decided to keep the existing façades (encased in IPE beams that run between the two median walls, resembling bars that support the cantilever volume on both fronts), and to preserve and enlarge the available green area with the patios on the four open corners of the house. The volume of the upper floor was designed as a U-shaped concrete slab platform perched perpendicular to the IPE beams, topped by walls sheathed with aged grayish wood brought from the south. In the front facing façades, glass walls open to the exterior to capture the northern sun.
