En el estudio trabajan 20 personas y proyectan obras en todo el mundo. ¿Han pensado en ampliarse? Somos un despacho tipo boutique firm, donde lo im- portante son las ideas y no el volumen. En un momento tuvimos a 40 personas trabajando y la verdad es que no nos acomodó. OAB es un estudio familiar pero no es solo de la familia. Mi padre ha tenido una manera de trabajar en la que ha colaborado con mucha gente y se preocupó de transmitirnos ese know how siempre: puedes tener un despacho pequeño y hacer muchos proyectos con otras oficinas colaboradoras alrededor del mundo. En Chile trabajamos con Federico Prieto Shäffer, y tenemos otros 14 colaboradores en diferentes países. Este sistema nos permite ser ágiles, tener ideas y adaptarnos a todas las realidades, culturas y geografías. ¿Se sienten identificados con un determinado estilo? Somos anti estilo. Creemos que los estilos son perjudi- ciales porque cada proyecto es una nueva realidad, una experiencia diferente y el resultado de una profunda investigación. Cuando entré a la oficina en 2005 le propuse a mi papá hacer una teorización del trasfondo del qué hacer de la oficina. Así nació el libro “Sincronizar la geometría” (2006), en el que se muestra el material de investigación que realizamos y el proceso creativo que conlleva cada obra.

We are a boutique firm, where the important thing is the ideas and not the volume. At one point, we had 40 people working and the truth is that it didn't suit us. OAB is a family firm but it is not only family. My father has had a way of working in which he has collaborated with many people and he always made sure to trans- mit that know-how to us: you can have a small office and do many projects with other collaborating offices around the world. In Chile, we work with Federico Prieto Shäffer, and we have 14 other collaborators in different countries. This system allows us to be agile, have ideas, and adapt to all realities, cultures, and geographies. Do you feel identified with a certain style? We are anti-style. We believe that styles are detrimental because each project is a new reality, a different ex- perience, and the result of thorough research. When I joined the office in 2005, I proposed to my dad to make a background theorization of what to do in the office. This is how the book "Synchronizing Geometry" (2006) was born, which shows the research material that we produce and the creative process involved in each work.
