historia de la familia Claude Leclerc De Vandamme, hijo único de un matrimonio de doctores, nació en París en 1928. Cuando comenzó la Segunda Guerra Mundial estaba junto a su padres en la Isla de Bali donde fueron detenidos y llevados a un cam- po de concentración. Luego son extraditados a Génova y su padre logró escapar. Claude y su madre pasaron cuatro meses en otro campo de concentración donde fueron torturados. El padre pertenecía a la resistencia francesa y logró rescatarlos escapando a los Pirineos. Claude entró a estudiar medicina y en cuarto año postuló a un intercambio a la España de Franco pero se le negó la entrada. Un amigo de la familia, Roberto Dolmann, le consiguió una beca para estudiar en la escuela de Medicina de la Universidad de Chile. Llegó en 1947 y se casó con su compañera de curso, Genoveva Valderrama. Ambos se titularon de psiquiatras y tuvieron tres hijos. Leclerc comenzó a buscar un lugar donde vivir, tenía muy claro que quería una casa ubicada en un sector de la capital que tuviera una gran vista y se enamoró del cerro San Luis. El encargo fue una casa con consulta médica, muy propio de los profesionales de la época. Esta se diseñó con doble acceso, siendo el de las consultas una entrada discreta a la que se accedía bajando por unas escaleras
family history Claude Leclerc De Vandamme, the only son of a married doctor, was born in Paris in 1928. When World War II began, he was with his parents on the island of Bali where they were arrested and taken to a concentration camp. Later they were extradited to Genoa and his father managed to escape. Claude and his mother spent four months in another concentration camp where they were tortured. His father belonged to the French resistance and managed to rescue them by escaping to the Pyrenees. Claude entered medical school and in the fourth year, he applied for an exchange to Franco's Spain but they refused his entry. A family friend, Roberto Dolmann, got him a scholarship to study at the University of Chile's medical school. He arrived in 1947 and married his classmate, Genoveva Valderrama. They both became psychiatrists and had three children. Leclerc began looking for a place to live. He was very clear that he wanted a house located in a sector of the capital that had a great view and he fell in love with San Luis Hill. The commission was a house with a medical office, very typical of the professionals of that time. It was designed with two entrances, one being the medical office with a discreet entrance that was accessed by going down some stairs at the side of the house. The design was quite a
