a plaza park, mediated by a water fountain, where the lawn is inscribed in a rigorous geometry tinged by secondary paths that give way to a more playful and free promenade. Tree-lined paths frame this space on the east and west sides and connect it with the axis that develops to the south. Previously, in order to maintain the route's continuity and the indispensable connection with the axis, a proposal was made to demolish the monument erected by the dictatorship that governed the country between 1973 and 1990, a mass whose bleachers had obstructed the historical connection between Caja Cívica and Bulnes Axis. Bulnes Axis, whose remodeling competition took place in 2012 was also awarded to Undurraga Devés and extended this project to the south of downtown. There, the strategy -as we move away from the governmental core- was for the space to acquire a more domestic character. The oriental plane trees that exist today in the promenade have been maintained, giving continuity to the landscape design proposed in the previous esplanade. To finish off the axis, two towers were proposed to articulate the promenade with Almagro Park, which runs transversally at the end of the route. !
Antes, con el objeto de mantener la continuidad del recorrido y la indispensable conexión con el eje, se propuso la demolición del monumento erigido por la dictadura que administró el país entre 1973 y 1990, mole cuyas graderías habían obstruido la conexión histórica entre la Caja Cívica y el Eje Bulnes. El Eje Bulnes, cuyo concurso de remodelación tuvo lugar el año 2012 –también adjudicado a Undurraga Devés–, extendió este proyecto hacia el sur del centro de la ciudad. Allí la estrate- gia –a medida que se aleja del núcleo gubernamental– fue que el espacio adquiriese un carácter más doméstico. Los plátanos orientales existentes hoy en el paseo se han mantenido, dando continuidad al paisajismo propuesto en la explanada prece- dente. Como remate del eje, se propuso erigir dos torres que articulan el paseo con el Parque Almagro, que corre transversal al final del recorrido. !
