La última arista de las obras respondió a la recuperación de la conectividad entre el gabinete presidencial y el ala sur a través de la apertura de un paso entre ambas zonas. Para esta conexión se escogió la oficina 215, que se encuentra contigua al gabinete y a las escaleras en el segundo piso. Para ejecutar el nuevo vano se utilizó el muro que comparten ambos espa- cios y para su reforzamiento se implementó un marco rígido estructural del mismo ancho que el muro (DARM MOP, 2018). Dada la intensidad y carga de uso del inmueble, las conser- vaciones producidas por la DA MOP han sido dirigidas a repa- raciones con carácter urgente, lo que ha dificultado disponer de una línea de acción planificada y de una visión integral para dar soluciones coherentes a sus falencias. Es por esto que se hizo patente la necesidad de generar un plan de desarrollo integral de intervención a futuro y resguardo de la edificación ante cambios de gobierno. Para ello se generó el Plan Patrimonial de Presidencia y actualmente se desarrolla el Plan Maestro para su restauración integral, en proceso de elaboración. !
2012-2019, focused on freeing this area of poorly made elements and smaller-scale components that altered its attributes and values. This process included the removal of air conditioning equipment, the replacement and repair of wooden doors and windows, the removal of false ceilings, partitions, and light fixtures, the replacement of parquet flooring, the painting of walls, ceilings, and the stairwell, the replacement of cornices, pilasters and stone ornaments and the restoration of two freight elevators (DARM MOP, 2016). Another aspect of these works relates to the Patio de los Na- ranjos, which showed occasional deterioration due to high traffic flow, environmental agents, and poor maintenance. According to the degree of the pieces' deterioration, it was determined that the blocks located in the western corridor should be replaced since the deterioration agent was active. On the other hand, in the southern zone, cleaning the blocks with partial damage was contemplated. After this work, a water-repellent seal was implemented to waterproof the stone (DARM MOP, 2018). The last facet of the works resulted in the recovery of the connectivity between the Presidential Cabinet and the South Wing through the opening of a passage between the two areas. For this connection, office 215 was chosen, which is adjacent to the Cabinet and the stairs on the second floor. To execute the new span, the wall shared by both spaces was used, and for its reinforcement a structural rigid frame with the same width as the wall was installed (DARM MOP, 2018). Given the intensity and heavy use of the building, the pre- servations performed by the DA MOP have been directed to urgent repairs, which has made it difficult to have a planned line of action and a comprehensive vision to provide coherent solutions to its shortcomings. For this reason, the need to create a comprehensive development plan for future intervention and protection of the building in the event of a governmental change became evident. To this end, the Presidency's Heritage Plan was drawn up and a Master Plan for its comprehensive restoration is currently being developed. !
