Planta Hospital El Carmen de Maipú_El Carmen de Maipú Hospital plan

After working in Chile for a year and a half as a collaborat- ing architect, he settled in Barcelona for four years, where he worked and completed a Master's Degree in Architecture, Art, and Ephemeral Space at Universidad Politécnica de Barcelo- na. During those years of work in Spain, an international call was opened for the first concession hospitals in Chile, and along with the office where he worked, which were hospital specialists, were awarded the hospitals El Carmen de Maipú and Clinico Metropolitano de La Florida along with a Chilean office. This result required him to return to Chile at the end of 2009 and for four years he was dedicated to developing the projects and supervising the construction of both hospitals. When the construction was completed in 2013, Cristóbal Tirado was 34 years old and had almost 140 thousand square meters of construction work under his belt. While the hospitals were under construction, in 2012 he participated in the competition for the Aysén Regional Museum. "Going from designing 140,000 square meters to drawing this tiny project, to getting involved in heritage restoration, wood construction, masonry, and brickwork, was a luxury," he says. Located on the outskirts of Coyhaique, in its 4,246 square meters, the museum is made up of a building and six restored heritage structures. One of the reasons I wanted to develop this project was to get rid of the burden and the surname of the hospital specialist. Many people believe that you have to be a specialist in something; I am a specialist in architecture, in building spaces. I have always been an advocate of that, that architecture offers different "games" and what one has to manage is to understand the rules and be able to play well". The following year he was awarded an even smaller project, just under 500m2 for a fire station, and in 2014 two entrances to the Santiago Metropolitan Park from the northern slope: Zapadores in Recoleta and Bosque de Santiago in Huechuraba. "Both projects had a very small budget to develop both the
