co, central courtyard, perimeter colonnade, and a translucent vaulted roof - which we hope to begin work on at the end of this year, thus restoring its public character and Providencia's social gathering place", he says. That same year, the Ibáñez City Hall Building was also awarded, which will be the first of three municipalities in the Aysén region, whose work should begin at the end of this year. During the pandemic came a prolific period in which he was awarded eight tenders in a row. It ended in 2020 with the Coyhaique Artisan Center, located next to the regional capi- tal's pentagonal square. "It is a roof and a patio to house the region's artisans," he notes about this project. In 2021, there were two projects, the First Fire Company Barracks in Coy- haique, a three-story building composed of a steel structure and glass blocks, two bus terminals on the southern highway, in the towns of Puerto Cisnes and La Junta and, later, one in a radically opposite climate like the Atacama Desert, in Caldera. In the middle of that year, he was awarded the O`Higgins Consistorial Building, where the Pan-American route ends and the ice fields begin. Almost at the end of 2021, he won first place for a new museum in Chillán, the Regional Museum of Ñuble, of which he comments: "I think it was the result of a clear and simple competition proposal. We wanted to preserve the spa- tiality of the pre-existing railway buildings, even if they were not heritage buildings, and to concentrate the new program on a tower, connecting both buildings employing an elevated walkway that runs from beginning to end, until it reaches a public lookout". Today this architect is developing different projects, finishing some of the 2021 projects that are not yet closed due to public externalities, and with the development of his last competition won at the beginning of 2023, the third municipality in the Chil- ean Patagonia, the Consistorial Building of Chile Chico. After a long interview, he ends by saying "I am super hard-working and I am trying to reduce the amount of work, which I think is totally abnormal. I like to be in control of my projects, I like to be involved in everything, fighting the details. However, because of a burnout issue, and because I want to spend more time with my family, my goal, for now, is to keep the office small with projects that I can tackle without overtaxing myself. Who knows, after a few years when my children are older and more independent, I might go back to being a workaholic again". !
