urban environment. Thus, this Roundtable is an interdepartmental workspace of the State of Ren- ca that looks to establish a relationship between developers, municipality, and community in order to efficiently manage how the insertion of new high-impact projects in the community is valued by the community as a contribution to their day- to-day quality of life. The success of the Urban Contribution Commit- tee model can be replicated in other municipalities in the country and is an example of good practice in the public-private relationship in the city's urban development. One example is that of a DS19 proj- ect under construction in the community, which, through meetings with neighboring residents, de- cided to reverse its floor plan distribution in order to create more space between the new building and the existing houses on the adjoining property. Cities Foward: New Challenges for Sustainable Urban Planning This year Renca was one of the 24 cities selected from 129 others that applied to the "Cities Forward" international cooperation program announced by Presidents Biden and Boric at the last Summit of the Americas in the United States. This is a unique international cooperation initia- tive promoted by the U.S. State Department, Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI), Resilient Cities Catalyst, and the Institute of the Americas. Cities Forward seeks to create sustainable, inclusive, and resilient futures through project consultation, co-design, and knowledge sharing between cities in Latin America, the Caribbean (LAC), and the United States (US). Over the next three years, Renca will be working with the city of Evanston, USA, to address challenges associated with green infrastructure, extreme weather events, watershed management, and access to mobility. Our participation in this initiative will allow us to advance planning and innovation strategies for climate action and complement a series of efforts we are already implementing in the community: Race to Zero and Race to Resilience Commitment. In 2021, Renca was the first Chilean community to join the zero-emissions race convened by COP 26 and, in 2022, at COP 27, we adopted resilience as a logical strategy to transform the city within the context of the climate emergency for present and future generations. In this regard, we have pro- moted the Water Intelligence Center, the Energy Inclusion program, the impulse for the recon- version of the Thermoelectric Power Plant, the alliance with Toyama so that companies in the city can join the production of renewable energy, and, more recently, within our strategy of Integrated Solid Waste Management, supported by IDB, the implementation of the home collection system for recycling of containers and packaging that was put into practice within the framework of the Extended Producer Responsibility Law. Cerros de Renca Metropolitan Park Master Plan We have promoted the Cerros de Renca as a green lung for the region through the creation of a Met- ropolitan Park in the northwestern part of the city. For this purpose, a team composed of officials from
