the Municipality of Renca's Projects Department, the architecture offices Teodoro Fernández Ar- quitectos and Lyon Bosch + Martic, and the NGO Urbanismo Social, worked with more than 7,000 neighbors in the development of a Master Plan with an ambitious portfolio of projects. The Cerros de Renca Park seeks to offer neigh- bors the opportunity to enjoy its orographic sys- tem. For this reason, the plan contemplates multi- ple sports, cultural, educational, and recreational programs that will consolidate this Metropolitan Park into a gathering space and connection with nature for the entire community, as a symbol of territorial justice.
Among the interventions worth highlighting are:
- The construction of the Metropolitan Region's highest natural lookout with a 360° view, with trails to explore it in a safe and accessible way. - A large-scale nursery that will leverage refor- estation with native species to conserve local biodiversity. - The consolidation of the main access with spaces for children and indigenous peoples to promote its educational use. - The execution of El Cerro Avenue along its entire length as a belt road will be a unifying feature between the Park and the community from east to west. Thus, through strategic alliances and the incorpo- ration of best practices, we are pushing Renca's development and its major projects, in a context of growing interest in this new sub-center of the city explained by its availability of land for housing, its excellent connectivity through highways, its strategic proximity to the Santiago airport and Route 68, and the upcoming inauguration of Metro Line 7 and the Santiago-Batuco Train. This government model, with the participation and protagonism of the community, is a hallmark of our community government to provide certainty to the community and private investment that allows sustainable, resilient, and inclusive development to consolidate Renca as a pioneer community in the Region. !
