El Campus Los Leones de la Universidad San Sebas- tián combina los edificios y jardines patrimoniales del ex Santiago College con las instalaciones ejecutadas pos- teriormente por la Universidad San Sebastán en el sector sur del predio. Estas nuevas intervenciones se componen de tres edificios educacionales de tres niveles, más un piso zócalo con salas y laboratorios, abierto a una gran plaza central, y tres subterráneos de estacionamientos. Para este proyecto se propuso la reconversión del segundo subterráneo de estacionamientos en una biblioteca central con un anillo perimetral de laboratorios. Con el fin de lograr una conexión fluida con los pisos superiores, se generaron dos patios con escaleras ubicadas en vértices opuestos de la planta. Estos funcionan tanto como accesos, así como entradas de aire y luz hacia los nuevos recintos. La biblioteca se materializó como una gran caja transparente central de perímetro irregular, que se muestra hacia la circulación perimetral. La cara opuesta de esta circulación es un borde recto donde se suceden los accesos a los laboratorios y a otros recintos académicos. The Los Leones campus of the San Sebastián University combines the heritage buildings and gardens from the former Santiago College with new facilities later built by the University in the southern part of the campus. These new interventions consist of three three-story educational buildings, plus a ground floor with classrooms and laboratories, open to a large central plaza, and three subterranean parking garages. For this project, they proposed a reconversion of the second subterranean parking garage into a central library with a perimeter ring of laboratories. In order to achieve a fluid connection with the upper floors, two courtyards with stairways located at opposite corners of the floor plan were created. These function both as entrances and as air and light entries to the new areas. The library was created as a large transparent central box with an irregular perimeter that is visible towards the perimeter circulation. The opposite side of this circulation is a straight edge where the entrances to the laboratories and other academic areas follow one after the other.
