El proyecto propone un recorrido a través de un pórtico compuesto por varios volúmenes claramente diferenciados en sus tipologías: uno cilíndrico, otro cuadrado y rectángu- los que, juntos con las diagonales, conforman un conjunto de formas básicas fácilmente reconocibles por los niños. Como en todas las obras de Mardones, se optó por un solo tono y un material con el fin de unificar todo el edificio. Las vigas y columnas están hechas de pino laminado y los muros, de tablas de pino insigne. Asimismo, se privilegió el uso de la luz vertical, diagonal y horizontal en cada uno de los volúmenes. En el patio central se instaló una escultura realizada especialmente para el jardín infantil por el artista Federi- co Assler, la que tiene una fuerte carga simbólica para el proyecto educativo. /

The project proposes a journey through a portico com- posed of several volumes clearly differentiated in their typologies: a cylindrical one, a square one, and rectangles that, together with the diagonals, form a set of basic shapes easily recognizable by children. As in all of Mardones' works, a single tone and material were chosen in order to unify the entire building. The beams and columns are made of lam- inated pine and the walls are made of insigne pine boards. Likewise, the use of vertical, diagonal, and horizontal light was favored in each of the volumes. A sculpture made especially for the preschool by the artist Federico Assler was installed in the central courtyard, which has a strong symbolic significance for the educa- tional project. /
