Veinticinco proyectos se presentaron, resultando gana- dora la propuesta del equipo liderado por los arquitectos Cristóbal Tirado y Alberto Moletto, la que contempla la rehabilitación de las cuatro bodegas en estado de abando- no para uso museográfico y la construcción de un edificio de cinco pisos, destinado a las oficinas y al área técnica del museo, y que contará con un mirador hacia el parque Ultraestación y a la ciudad de Chillán. Durante 2023 se gestionará el financiamiento y la licitación de las obras, con la proyección de que estas se inicien en 2024. El jurado del concurso estuvo presidido por Raúl Irarráza- bal, director Nacional de Arquitectura del Minvu, e integrado por Carlos Maillet, director del Servicio Nacional del Patri- monio Cultural; Celso Monsalve, del Colegio de Arquitectos; un representante de los concursantes, y cuatro miembros de la Dirección de Arquitectura del MOP. Como asesores del jurado participaron Emilio de la Cerda, subsecretario de Patrimonio Cultural; Lucía Ríos, en representación de la Asociación de Oficinas de Arquitectos; un asesor técnico del Servicio Nacional del Patrimonio Cultural; un asesor urbano, un experto local, y seremis de las Culturas y del Minvu.
Twenty-five projects were submitted, with the winning proposal going to the team led by architects Cristóbal Tirado and Alberto Moletto, which contemplates the re- habilitation of the four abandoned structures for museum use and the construction of a five-story building for the museum's offices and technical area, with a lookout over- looking Ultraestación Park and the city of Chillán. In 2023 the financing and bidding for the project will be arranged, with a projected start date of 2024. The competition´s jury was chaired by Raúl Irarráz- abal, National Director of Architecture from Minvu, and included Carlos Maillet, Director of the National Cultural Heritage Service; Celso Monsalve, from the Association of Architects; a representative of the competitors; and four members from the MOP's Directorate of Architecture. The jury's advisors were Emilio de la Cerda, undersecretary of Cultural Heritage; Lucía Ríos, representing the Association of Architects' Offices; a technical advisor from the National Cultural Heritage Service; an urban advisor; a local expert; and seremis from the Ministry of Culture and Minvu.
