MUSEO REGIONAL DE ÑUBLE El encargo planteaba dos desafíos importantes: por una parte, trabajar sobre preexistencias, y por otra, considerar la construcción del depósito por etapas. Como primera opera- ción, se propuso separar los programas, ubicando aquellos de alta técnica como los depósitos, oficinas, laboratorios y talleres, en un edificio nuevo de resolución simple y de estructura tradicional, que permite la habilitación futura de pisos intermedios. Por otra parte, se planteó rehabilitar los galpones de la ex Estación de Trenes para salas museográficas. La re- cuperación contempla la consolidación estructural de las preexistencias, una cubierta metálica, muros con aislación térmica y yeso cartón, pavimentos de hormigón pulido, cielos blancos aislados y acústicos e instalaciones bajo los pisos para cuidar, así, la espacialidad propia de los galpones. El volumen correspondiente al acceso principal tiene un tratamiento distinto que recuerda espacialmente la ruina de las maestranzas abiertas, sin cubiertas. Este galpón se destinó a un invernadero que permita presentar una museografía viva de la flora de la región. El elemento conector entre las preexistencias y la nueva construcción es un cuerpo ajeno que vincula los programas externos a la exposición, conectando, de extremo a extremo, el área de la biblioteca y auditorio con la sala de exposiciones temporales y la sala audiovisual. Este artefacto excede los límites de la preexistencia y remata en la nueva construc- ción, recorriéndola verticalmente, observando los depósitos y la forma de trabajar del backstage de la muestra, para terminar en un gran salón de eventos, cafetería y mirador. /
ÑUBLE´S REGIONAL MUSEUM The commission posed two important challenges: on the one hand, to work on pre-existing buildings, and on the other, to consider the construction of the structure in stages. As a first step, the programs such as the structures, offices, laboratories, and workshops were proposed to be separated by placing them in a new building with a simple resolution and a traditional structure that would permit the future construction of intermediate floors. On the other hand, the former train station´s warehouses were proposed to be rehabilitated as museum halls. The recovery contemplates the structural consolidation of the pre-existing structures, a metal roof, thermally insulated walls and drywall, polished concrete floors, insulated and acoustic white ceilings, and under-the-floor installations to preserve the structure´s spatiality. The main entrance´s corresponding volume has a differ- ent treatment that spatially reminds us of the ruins' open workshops, without roofs. This structure was used as a greenhouse to present a living museum of the region's flora. The connecting element between the pre-existence and the new construction is a foreign body that links the external programs to the exhibition hall, connecting the library and auditorium area with the temporary exhibition hall and the audiovisual room from end to end. This artifact exceeds the limits of the pre-existing structure and ends in the new construction, traversing it vertically, observing the warehouses and the way the exhibition backstage works, ending in a large event hall, cafeteria, and lookout point. /
