Con el fin de fomentar el uso de la madera en la arquitectura, el diseño y la construcción, desde 2006 que CORMA realiza el concurso Madera21 para estudiantes de arquitectura. Para esta, la XVI versión del certamen, se invitó a los alum- nos de universidades de Chile y del mundo a investigar sobre cómo la pandemia ha reformulado la manera de trabajar y a proponer soluciones que replanteen su escala, su rigidez, su jerarquía y su innecesaria condición centralizadora. Se presentaron 83 proyectos y el jurado compuesto por los arquitectos Cristián Undurraga, Xaviera Gleixner, María Hurtado de Mendoza, Gabriela García de Cortázar, Nicolás Norero, Marta Moreira, Felipe Victorero, José Ma- yoral y Jeanette Plaut, dio como ganadora a la propuesta “Transformando canchas” del equipo de la Universidad de Chile formado por María Paz Yolín, Valentina Paz Ferrada, Alexandra Pérez y el profesor guía, Miguel Casassus.
In order to promote the use of wood in architecture, design, and construction, CORMA has been holding the Madera21 competition for architecture students since 2006. For this, the XVI version of the competition, students from universities in Chile and around the world were invited to research how the pandemic has reshaped the way of working and to propose solutions that rethink its scale, its rigidity, its hierarchy, and its unnecessary centralizing condition. Eighty-three projects were presented and the jury, com- posed of architects Cristián Undurraga, Xaviera Gleixner, María Hurtado de Mendoza, Gabriela García de Cortázar, Nicolás Norero, Marta Moreira, Felipe Victorero, José Mayoral and Jeanette Plaut, awarded the winner to the proposal "Transforming Courts" by the Universidad de Chile´s team formed by María Paz Yolín, Valentina Paz Ferrada, Alexandra Pérez, and supervising professor, Miguel Casassus.
