Considerando que en este clima lo más importante es la posibilidad de tener sombra, se generó, a modo de tienda, dos catenarias que se cuelgan de tres marcos de madera.
“Tent” is located in Puerto Viejo, a small town in the commu- nity of Caldera, Chile. This town was born from a progressive takeover of second homes without any type of urbanization and remains in an ambiguous condition in legal terms. Its inhabitants, people with limited resources, have had to "manage" in different ways to be able to have the minimum living conditions. It is partly these same strategies and this way of using the territory that brought the project to this location, accepting the area’s conditions. “Tent” consists of laminated wood construction and simple carpentry joints, with knots in three directions at the intersection of different pieces. Considering that in this climate the most important thing is to have shade, a tent was created with two catenaries hanging from three wooden frames. The project has no lateral enclosure because it was designed to be used only in summer, in a place with privileged climatic conditions, and where it practically does not rain. The interior layout is arranged through the use of different Yakisugi wood cylinders painted gen. This gives flexibility to the interior use and solves the interior problem without major differences in hierarchies. The only fixed modules are the bathroom and the water storage cylinder. Yakisugi wood was used to close the ends of the project in order to protect them from the sun, to give interior privacy, and for the modules' interior enclosures.
Tent se emplaza en Puerto Viejo, una pequeña localidad ubicada en la comuna de Caldera, Chile. Este poblado nació de una toma progre- siva de segundas viviendas sin ningún tipo de urbanización y que permanece en una condición ambigua en términos legales. Sus habitantes, personas de escasos recursos, han tenido que “ingeniárselas” de distintas maneras para poder contar con las condiciones mínimas de habitabi- lidad. Son, en parte, estas mismas estrategias y esta manera de ocupar el territorio lo que lleva al proyecto a ubicarse en este lugar, aceptando las condiciones de este.

Tent consiste en una construcción en madera laminada y uniones carpinteras simples, con nudos en el cruce en tres direcciones de las distintas piezas. Considerando que en este clima lo más importante es la posibilidad de tener sombra, se generó, a modo de tienda, dos cate- narias que se cuelgan de tres marcos de madera. El proyecto no tiene ningún cerramiento lateral, ya que se consideró que solo se utilizará en verano, en un lugar cuyas condiciones climáticas son privilegiadas y donde prácticamente no llueve. La organización interior está dispuesta mediante el uso de distintos cilindros de madera Yakisugi pintada gen. Esto permite dar flexibilidad al uso interior y resolver los interiores sin mayores jerarquías. Los únicos módulos fijos son el baño y el cilindro que almacena el agua. La madera Yakisugi se utilizó para cerrar los extremos del proyecto de manera de proteger del sol, de dar privacidad al interior y para los cerramientos interiores de los módulos.
