¿De qué manera han logrado integrar a las comunidades en estos proyectos? Uno de los primeros que le dio "el palo al gato" fue John Pawson con una capilla en Pomaire. Ellos propusieron crear ladrillos ahumados negros, un color de la alfarería pomairina que se logra ahumando guano de vaca y caballo, e invitaron a todas las personas que tuviesen un horno de barro a fabricar cierta cantidad de ladrillos para construir con ellos la nueva capilla. De esta manera se logra una obra comunitaria en la que todos colaboran y aportan el material de construcción. Como este caso, cada una de las oficinas ha innovado desde lo material, integrando también este componente social y comu- nitario. Ensamble Studio, por ejemplo, está trabajando con el residuo de polvo que queda cuando se trabaja la piedra rosada y que está asociado a problemas de salud como la silicosis, y ellos lo mezclan para hacer una nueva pieza rosada con este desecho. Este giro de tuerca ha sido súper gratificante como fundación.
How have they managed to include the communities in these projects? One of the first architects to come on board was John Pawson with a chapel in Po-maire. They proposed to create black smoked bricks, the color of Pomaire pottery made by smoking cow and horse manure and invited everyone who had a clay oven to make a certain amount of bricks to build the new chapel with them. This is how communitarian work is achieved in which everyone collaborates and contributes with the con- struction material. Just as in this case, each office has innovated from the ma-terial point of view, integrating a social and community component. Ensamble Studio, for example, is working with the dust residue that remains after working with pink stones and it is linked to health problems such as silicosis, and they mix this residue to make a new pink piece with it. This twist has been extremely gratifying as a foundation.
