¿El mapuche podría subirse a este carro? El mapuche moderno no se sube al carro de la cultura alternativa porque sigue una tradición milenaria que lo precede. Lo interesante y curioso de la cultura alternativa es que funciona en el seno mismo de la civilización. Si hay gente que, aún viviendo en la civilización, fue protegida de este veneno biológico del constructo tecno-financiero es ya un indicio de recuperación. Yo hablo de la cultura alternativa no como un panindigenismo del mundo. Sé que ellos están en el buen vivir, pero esta lucha la va a dar gente inserta en la civilización, profesionales que se han unido a esta nueva iniciativa planetaria. ¿Cuál podría ser el gran paraguas que nos reúna a todos como un país intercultural? Chile es un país tremendamente maleducado porque no es educado en valores, sino en estrategias. Debe haber personas que tengan un alto nivel ético y es difícil encontrar ese tipo de gente hoy en la vida pública: cuesta encontrar gente confiable, éticamente limpia, que no sea doble. Ese tipo de gente ha ido desapareciendo y cuando desaparece eso en la cúpula, desaparece en la base. Esas personas que se reúnan bajo ese paraguas tienen que tener la voluntad de armonizar, de renunciar a sus propios intereses, para tener intereses comunes con otros. Es necesario recurrir a la educación que es lo que piden los jóvenes. Hoy la gran pregunta de los alumnos es esa: ¿quién me enseña a mí a ser una persona responsable de mis actos, con consistencia ética? ¿Dónde se enseña eso? La psique 1 si no se domina por el espíritu, se degenera, y el hombre queda a merced de sus impulsos inconscientes. Eso es lo peor que puede pasar, porque sobrevienen los prejuicios, el odio y otras aversiones. Es en el espíritu donde está la sabiduría, la virtud, el sentido y la noción de trascendencia. Solo si hay desarrollo interior se puede confiar en una persona. Y esa fue la intención del padre de la patria cuando puso una estrella en la bandera porque, según la tradición masónica a la que pertenecía, la estrella es símbolo del hombre: la unidad del espíritu y el cuaternario material. Y ese es el modelo que Bernardo O´Higgins quería para este país. Además, puso un asterisco de ocho brazos bordado con perlas dentro de la estrella, es el guñelve, que según la tradición mapuche le da la sabiduría al hombre. Hizo muy buen al juntar estas dos tradiciones… ¿Cómo se vería un Chile intercultural? Debemos promover la cultura indígena en todas sus formas porque, en mi experiencia como profesor, cuando los alumnos toman contacto con el mundo mapuche quedan maravillados por la cosmovisión, el idioma, el respeto por la naturaleza, el respeto por la mujer. Las machis son en su mayoría mujeres que tienen una enorme relevancia en la comunidad, no necesitan una revolución feminista, y pocos saben que el mapudungun es uno de los idiomas más ricos del mundo conceptualmente. Por ejemplo, huentru que significa hombre, es la síntesis de dos palabras “cielo” y “contraer”. Eso es el hombre: es el cielo contraído en un cuerpo. ¿Qué es lo que dice el mito? Que el ser supremo tomó un espíritu celestial que cubrió con un cuerpo material y lo tiró a la tierra. De eso deduces que la concepción del hombre que tiene el pueblo mapuche es espiritualista, no materialista... Tenemos mucho que aprender de ellos… /

And that was the intention of the country's father when he put a star on the flag because, according to the Masonic tradition to which he belonged, the star is a symbol of man: the unity of the spirit and the material quaternary. And that was the model that Bernardo O'Higgins wanted for this country. He also placed an eight-armed asterisk embroidered with pearls inside the star, the Guñelve, which according to Mapuche tradition gives wisdom to man. He did a very good job by bringing these two traditions together… What would an intercultural Chile look like? We must promote the indigenous culture in all its forms because, in my experience as a teacher, when students come into contact with the Mapuche world they are amazed. The worldview, the language, the respect for nature, the respect for women.
