The Liceo was rehabilitated based on respect for the original architecture, paying attention to the structural elements and the materiality of the complex, recovering the spatiality of the en- closures, and enhancing the architectural value of the building. The interior houses social and healthcare-related uses such as a gymnasium, yoga rooms, a nursery, healthy food kitchens, and an auditorium, among others. For the CESFAM building, the architects designed a new building on the opposite side of the site with the same "L" layout as the old Liceo, closing the property at the back. In this way, the site´s perimeter is surrounded, freeing up its interior for a courtyard. Aware of the importance of natural light in the healthcare environment, they designed courtyards that bathe the interior of the consultation areas and vertical communications with light. In ad- dition, thanks to the glass facade with wooden slats, natural light floods the entire CESFAM throughout its four floors.
