Frente a la sequía y desastres naturales como el aluvión del 2015, se propone un proyecto de arquitectura del paisaje para el cruce de la Quebrada de Paipote con el río Copiapó. El Parque aluvional Quebrada Paipote surge a partir del orden del suelo y las aguas como principales elementos configuradores; mediante operaciones topográficas se definen horizontes de ocupación según caudales de retorno de lluvias en distintos plazos. Los recorridos, programas y vegetación responden a la activación del parque como espacio público y, al mismo tiempo, a una forma topográfica que funcione como infraestructura hidráulica.
In the face of drought and natural disasters such as the 2015 flood, a landscape architecture project is proposed for the confluence of the Paipote ravine with the Copiapó river. The concept for the Quebrada Paipote Alluvial Park rises from the orders of the soil and the waters as the main configurating elements. By means of topographical operations, the occupation levels are defined according to the rainwater flows in different periods. The routes, programs and vegetation respond to the activation of the park as a public space and, at the same time, to a topographical form that functions as hydraulic infrastructure.
