Al interior de la casa, los tabiques en madera rellena de ladrillos –de acuerdo a las antiguas técnicas constructivas– fueron vaciados, dejando la estructura de madera a la vista. A este esqueleto se adosó un cristal para mantener la independencia acústica sin perder la transparencia e integración de los espacios. La intervención más radical fue la incorporación de un pabellón de madera y vidrio que articula las circulaciones y los dos niveles de la casa; próximamente servirá, además, como mediador entre las oficinas actuales y la casa vecina que se anexará al conjunto. Articulados por un patio, sobre el cual se construyó un pequeño anfiteatro, se encuentran los antiguos almacenes y galpones habilitados como talleres. Las operaciones de remodelación y restauración sobre esos inmuebles fueron mínimas,
evitando la yuxtaposición como estrategia de proyecto y cuidando en todo momento de mantener su carácter fabril. Es justo destacar que los impulsores del proyecto han hecho de este ejercicio un acto de resistencia frente a un desarrollo urbano de torres aisladas que ha ido erosionando el carácter original del barrio. De allí el afán por delinear un plan parcial de desarrollo que permita proponer un nuevo orden urbano, sin que ello suponga renegar de la historia. Inside the house, the brick-filled wooden partitions –according to the old construction techniques– were emptied, leaving the wooden structure exposed. Glass panes were attached to this skeleton to preserve acoustic independence without losing the transparency and integration of the spaces. that articulates the circulations and the two levels of the house. Soon it will also serve as a mediator between the current offices and the neighboring house that will be annexed to the set. Articulated by a patio, on which a small amphitheater was built, the old warehouses and sheds were refurbished as workshops. The remodeling and restoration operations on these buildings were minimal, avoiding juxtaposition as a project strategy and taking care at all times to preserve their industrial character. It is fair to point out that the promoters of the project have made this exercise an act of resistance against an urban development of isolated towers that has eroded the original character of the neighborhood. Hence the desire to define a partial plan of development that proposes a new urban order, without implying a denial of history.
