El Norwegian Wild Reindeer Pavilion se encuentra en un lugar espectacular en las afueras del Parque Nacional Dovrefjell, aproximadamente a 1.250 msnm, con vistas a la montaña Snøhetta. El objetivo principal del edificio, de 75 m², es ser centro de difusión y refugio para grupos escolares y visitantes. El diseño se basa en el contrapunto entre una cubierta exterior rígida, de acero y cristal, y un núcleo interno de formas redondeadas y suaves, revestido en madera, que evoca rocas erosionadas por el viento y las aguas. Se cuidó especialmente la calidad y durabilidad de los materiales para que el edificio resistiera la severidad del clima. Si bien sus formas simples y los materiales escogidos aluden a las tradiciones de construcción local, el proceso exigió avanzada tecnología. The Norwegian Wild Reindeer Pavilion is located in a spectacular location on the outskirts of the Dovrefjell National Park, at approximately 1,250 meters above sea level, overlooking Snøhetta mountain. The main objective of the 75 sqm building, is to be an information center and refuge for school groups and visitors. The design is based on the counterpoint between a rigid outer cover, made of steel and glass, and an inner core of rounded and soft shapes, sheathed in wood, which evokes rocks eroded by wind and water. The quality and durability of the materials were particularly considered so the building could resist the severity of the climate. Although its simple forms and the chosen materials allude to the traditions of local construction, the process demanded advanced technology.
