GENOMIC VERIFICATION: HOMO BLACK & HOMO POLLED

For our bull sale, we had Neogen’s GeneSeek laboratory per- form genomic testing on all our Simmental bulls to determine ho- mozygous black and homozygous polled status. Using high-res- olution DNA genotyping, GeneSeek tests identify animals that carry two copies of the dominant black coat color gene and the polled (horn-free) gene, giving buyers confidence that these desirable traits will consistently be passed on to offspring. This very well could be the best Purebred Angus bull we have ever raised. Not only do his numbers get you fired up his presence is second to none. A very square built, big hipped, meat wagon of a bull. His mother has rose to the top of our Angus herd and I foresee Bedrock leaving his mark on the breed. Lot 75 is truly something special.

ADJ 3.7 With very few straws of CAG Thunder left in the tank this very well could be the last bull calf we see. With Cowboy Cut on the bottom side and the 2014 Supreme Champion bull at the Black Hills Stock Show on top I would say this mating has aged like fine wine. Don’t miss out on lot 74!
