Una elipse define dos tipos de espacios. El de su borde, que implica dispersión y recorrido lineal, alojará a Chile y sus recursos. Por otro lado, el proyecto dispone de espacios de permanencia, dispuestos en los polos de la elipse, donde se propone destacar los aportes del país y su relación con el universo, su literatura, arte y arquitectura. El interior se presenta como una pieza multifacética para mostrar paisaje y cultura; el espacio activado por el cilindro escénico y los lugares anexos, que acogerán de manera flexible muestras culinarias, conciertos, exposiciones, charlas, performance, darán vida al pabellón. Una cáscara de madera permite resguardar el interior como un embalaje. Mediante un simple sistema de dobles pieles, el edificio incorpora ventilación natural por fachadas y cubiertas, lo que permite que el aire ventilado enfríe los muros regulando la temperatura interna. La incorporación de colectores solares y paneles fotovoltaicos permite utilizar la alta radiación del lugar como ganancia energética activa para el funcionamiento del pabellón. An ellipse defines two types of spaces. The one on the edge, which implies dispersion and linear travel, will house Chile and its resources. On the other hand, the project has permanent spaces, housed in the poles of the ellipse, where it is proposed to host the country's contributions and its relationship with the universe, its literature, art and architecture. The interior is presented as a multifaceted piece to show landscape and culture; the space activated by the scenic cylinder and the annexed places, which will flexibly host culinary shows, concerts, exhibitions, talks, performances, will give life to the pavilion. A wooden shell allows to protect the interior as a packaging. With a simple double skin system, the building incorporates natural ventilation in façades and roofs, which allows the ventilated air to cool the walls regulating internal temperature. The incorporation of solar collectors and photovoltaic panels allows to use the high radiation of the place as active energy gain for the operation of the pavilion.
Construir un pabellón implica exportar, llevar un trozo de un país a otro lugar. Es un zarpe, una salida que obliga a embalar algo para instalarlo en otro lado. Es este embalaje lo singular y a su vez lo más interesante. Chile es un trozo de suelo un tanto perdido en la punta de un continente, un territorio particular caracterizado por su condición de borde, de interioridad. Por ello, el pabellón debe ser un intento por importar esta interioridad, por llevar su borde y, sobre todo, llevar su luz. El pabellón es un edificio simple y austero, más un arca que un edificio. Desde su condición de austeridad permite fundar una posición estratégica frente a la muestra. Propone un interior que será un almacén de experiencias, un Chile mostrado desde la inmersión propuesta por la escena. Building a pavilion means exporting, taking a piece from one country to another place. It is a departure, an exit that forces you to pack something to install it elsewhere. This packaging is the unique experience and at the same time the most interesting. Chile is a piece of earth somewhat lost at the tip of a continent, a particular territory characterized by its condition of edge, and of interiority. Therefore, the pavilion must be an attempt to import this interiority, to carry its edge and, above all, to carry its light. The pavilion is a simple and austere building, more an ark than a building. Its austere condition allows it to establish a strategic position regarding the sample. It proposes an interior that will be a warehouse of experiences, a country shown from the immersion proposed by the scene.
