Sobre las fundaciones existentes se apoyarán las vigas principales de acero que sostendrán el pabellón. Se montarán dos volúmenes prefabricados y estructurados como dos vigas Vierendeel habitables, las cuales descansarán sobre el envigado fundacional. Sobre esta estructura se montará el sombreadero que contiene la sala principal, uniendo los paneles de los módulos de envigados de madera de 2x6" por sus cantos, buscando configurar un andamio sobrio y riguroso. En su interior se tensará una membrana de PTFE en la que se proyectarán los cielos de Chile. Este contexto ofrece la posibilidad de marcar una posición frente al espectáculo desde una arquitectura sobria e ingeniosa, que apunta a la sustentabilidad a partir de operaciones precisas y artesanales y que ha conformado un imaginario consistente en la denominada "nueva arquitectura chilena". The main steel beams that will support the pavilion will sit on the existing foundations. Two prefabricated and habitable Vierendeel beam volumes will rest on the foundation beams. The trellis grid that contains the main hall will be mounted on this structure, joining the 2x6" wooden board panels by their edges, seeking to configure a sober and rigorous scaffolding. Inside, a PTFE membrane will be tensed on which the skies of Chile will be projected. This context offers the possibility of making a statement regarding the show with a sober and ingenious architecture, which aims at sustainability based on precise and artisanal operations and which has created an image consisting of the so-called "new Chilean architecture".
PRADO ARQUITECTOS + AZÓCAR CATRÓN ARQUITECTOS
Se propone un objeto unitario, austero y silencioso, compuesto por un delicado andamio de madera que se posa sobre dos barras pétreas. El vacío contenido entre ambos corresponderá al espacio más público del pabellón, donde se expondrán los distintos cielos de Chile, esos que cobijan toda la diversidad del país, de su territorio, de su paisaje, su clima y sus personas; personas del desierto, del valle, del bosque y de la Patagonia, las múltiples culturas que habitan estas tierras. Por otro lado, el interior de las barras corresponderá a lo más íntimo del pabellón, donde habrá una serie de espacios multiusos que podrán ir variando su propósito de acuerdo a las distintas necesidades requeridas. A unitary, austere and silent object is proposed, composed of a delicate wooden scaffold that perches on two stone bars. The void contained between the two will correspond to the most public space of the pavilion, where the different skies of Chile will be exhibited, those that cover the entire diversity of the country, its territory, its landscape, its climate and its people; people from the desert, the valley, the forest and Patagonia, the multiple cultures that inhabit these lands. On the other hand, the interior of the bars will correspond to the most intimate part of the pavilion, where a series of multipurpose spaces that may vary according to the different needs.
