- ¿Cómo se coordinan entre sí las oficinas de C.F. Møller en Europa, desde Aarhus –la originaria y central– hasta Londres, la más nueva? ¿Cómo logran hacer prevalecer los principios y valores definidos por la firma entre sus casi 300 empleados de las más diversas nacionalidades? Todas las oficinas mantienen una línea común, y para lograrlo, dos o tres veces al año los máximos directivos se reúnen para revisar el estado de los proyectos y para revisitar nuestros principios y fundamentos como oficina, y eventualmente también abrirse a nuevos principios. La línea de las oficinas es muy pareja y clara, es una visión que todos nos preocupamos de mantener y respetar para que no se produzcan diferencias de mano o fundamentos en los proyectos, y que estos reflejen los principios y valores que nos sustentan. En líneas generales estos privilegian la sustentabilidad y el respeto por el entorno, pero siempre con el foco puesto en el ser humano, en el habitante. Los proyectos están al servicio de las personas y no al servicio de la oficina. - Llama la atención que, dada su envergadura, la firma aborde proyectos de las más diversas escalas, desde planes maestros a viviendas, desde grandes urbanizaciones, edificios corporativos y hospitales hasta el diseño de mobiliario y objetos. ¿A qué responde eso? Efectivamente, manejamos estas escalas porque nos gusta entender cada proyecto en su integridad, partiendo por el paisajismo del entorno y ojalá llegar hasta el diseño de las manillas de las puertas. Y para eso contamos con equipos de especialistas en todas las disciplinas del diseño: además de arquitectos y urbanistas, diseñadores gráficos, de mobiliario y objetos, iluminación, paisaje…
- How do the C.F. Møller offices coordinate with each other in Europe, from Aarhus –the original and central– to London, the newest? How do the principles and values defined by the firm prevail among its almost 300 employees of the most diverse nationalities? All the offices maintain a common line, and to achieve this, two or three times a year the top managers meet to review the status of all projects and to revise the principles and foundations of the studio, and eventually also open up to new principles. The line of the offices is very even and clear, it is a vision that we all care to maintain and respect, so that there are no differences in hand or fundamentals of the projects, and make sure these reflect the principles and values that sustain us all. In general, they privilege sustainability and respect for the environment, but always with the focus on the human being, on the inhabitant. The projects are at the service of the people and not at the service of the studio. - It is striking that, given its size, the firm addresses projects of the most diverse scales, from master plans to homes, from large urban developments, corporate buildings and hospitals to the design of furniture and objects. What does that respond to? Indeed, we handle these scales because we like to understand each project in its entirety, starting with the landscaping of the surroundings and hopefully reaching the design of the door handles. And for that we have teams of specialists in all design disciplines: in addition to architects and urban planners, graphic designers, furniture and object designers, lighting, landscape…
TERMINAL DE VÄRTA, ESTOCOLMO Värta Terminal, Stockholm Suecia, 2016 Superficie: 17.100 m²
Construido el 2016 en el puerto de Estocolmo, se conecta tanto a su contexto marítimo –en escala, tectónica y materialidad–, como al urbano –el nuevo barrio de Norra Djurgårdsstaden–, a través de un parque público. El entramado en zigzag, el gran piso panorámico sin uniones y los revestimientos de fachadas y techos definen su impronta arquitectónica. El techo –la terraza abierta más grande de la ciudad– fue diseñado como un parque verde con escaleras, rampas y rincones acogedores, con vistas a todo el horizonte. El Värtaterminalen es energéticamente autosustentable y fue el primer edificio del puerto sueco en obtener la certificación Gold. Built in 2016, the ferry terminal of the port of Stockholm connects with a public park both its maritime context –in scale, tectonics and materiality– and its urban context, the new neighborhood of Norra Djurgårdsstaden. The zigzag framework, the use of a large panoramic floor with no joints, and the cladding used for its façades and roofs define its architectural image. The roof –the largest open terrace of the city– was designed as a green park with stairs, ramps, nooks and cozy hideaways, overlooking the Stockholm skyline. The Värtaterminalen is energetically self-sustaining and It was the first building of the Swedish port to obtain Gold certification.
