Elevated Opulence The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach unveils six new luxury high-rise living spaces BY JASON GENEGABUS

T he Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach has turned heads and redefined luxury hospitality on O‘ahu since the opening of its ‘Ewa Tower in 2016, followed by the Diamond Head Tower two years later. Designed by Guerin Glass Architects with work completed by general contractor Layton Construction Co. LLC, the property is inspired by Hawai‘i’s natural beauty. It sets benchmarks in opulence while attracting discerning guests from around the world to 552 rooms spread across two 38-story towers along Kalaimoku Street. Interior design firm Jon Brent Design’s understated elegance, contem- porary island-deco and modern luxury inspiration is seen throughout the resort’s common areas. Well-appointed studio, one-, two-, three- and four- bedroom accommodations all face the Pacific Ocean to provide guests with
unparalleled views. For some, however, visiting The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach, as just a hotel guest isn’t enough. Irongate, developers of the property, anticipated this need and recently unveiled its Penthouse Collection — six one-of-a-kind luxury residences built 350 feet above Waikīkī on the 37th and 38th floors of the resort’s Diamond Head Tower. Developed as the final phase at the iconic address, the Penthouse Collection features two- and three- bedroom and den residences, ranging from 2,191 square feet to 4,157 square feet of interior air-conditioned living. On the top floor, each penthouse features a private rooftop lanai with its own plunge pool and fully equipped outdoor kitchen. Prices for residences in the Penthouse Collection start at $5.9 million. Sarah Evans, Irongate’s manag- ing director for Marketing and Sales,

Could you provide a general overview of the Penthouse Collection? What was the main inspi - ration behind the work that was done in Waikīkī?

ANSWER: As the crowning jewel of the largest Ritz-Carlton Residences in the brand’s global portfolio, we wanted the final penthouse collec- tion to celebrate its location in one of the world’s iconic beach destina- tions — Waikīkī. The penthouses are a thoughtfully designed collaboration between Guerin Glass Architects and Jon Brent Design. Architecturally, the residences exude understated elegance with a touch of contemporary island- deco inspiration. On the inside, the
