En el tercer edificio, corazón del proyecto, están la capilla y biblioteca; se ubica al centro de los otros dos edificios, determinando la fachada principal. De forma cilíndrica, la capilla es una figura lisa, sin principio ni fin, que define un espacio de meditación y oración. Al igual que la biblioteca, se abre al entorno con grandes ventanales, permitiendo la contemplación y unión con la naturaleza. La biblioteca se emplaza en un zócalo bajo la capilla, en un espacio aislado y desvinculado del movimiento de la casa. Los tres edificios están unidos por una galería, conformando una fachada continua que define el patio central y rescata el concepto de la casa tradicional chilena. Al patio central, público y abierto, confluye todo el conjunto y se orienta a la calle en una actitud de acogida. Desde este patio se accede a la Casa. Un estudio de eficiencia energética definió las fachadas, muros con revestimiento metálico y aislación térmica sobre la norma nacional, paneles solares en la cubierta y fachadas verdes en el patio central. Este conjunto de soluciones mejora las condiciones térmicas del edificio, respondiendo a los requerimientos del mandante. El revestimiento metálico de fachadas es del tipo acero corten, de baja mantención y mayor permanencia en el tiempo.
The third building, heart of the project, hosts the chapel and library; it is located at the center of the other two buildings, defining the main façade. Shaped as a cylinder, the chapel is a smooth figure, without beginning or end, which defines a space for meditation and prayer. Like the library, it opens to the environment with large windows, allowing contemplation and connection with nature. The library is located in a basement under the chapel, in an isolated space and detached from the activity of the house. The three buildings are joined by a gallery, forming a continuous façade that defines the central courtyard and reflects the concept of the traditional Chilean house. The whole group converges towards the central patio, public and open, facing the street in an attitude of welcome. The patio serves as entrance to the house. An energy efficiency study defined the façades, walls with metal cladding and thermal insulation surpassing the national standards, solar panels on the roof and green façades in the central courtyard. This set of solutions improves the thermal conditions of the building, responding to the requirements of the client. The metal cladding of facades is in Corten steel, of low maintenance and great durability.
