Se trata de una edificación de uso mixto habitacional y comercio de 12 pisos más tres subterráneos en hormigón armado. La idea central fue fundir en un solo proyecto un edificio de diseño contemporáneo, más urbano y de mayor altura –con departamentos pequeños situados hacia Av. Los Leones para un público más joven– con un edificio más bajo hacia calle Llewellyn Jones, para departamentos familiares, de mayor tamaño y con vistas hacia el sector más tranquilo del tradicional barrio El Bosque. El partido general fue desarrollar un volumen único que contuviera los requerimientos antes descritos, pero que principalmente respondiera con sus distintas escalas al entorno inmediato. Se buscó liberar y retranquear los cierros a nivel calle, integrando los jardines al espacio público. De gran importancia fue trabajar las fachadas con elementos entrantes y salientes, donde la masa juega un rol prioritario en el juego de luces y sombras que dan dinamismo a la envolvente.
It is a mixed-use housing and commercial building of 12 floors plus three basements, in reinforced concrete. The central idea was to merge into a single project a building of contemporary design –with an urban character and of greater height, with small apartments located towards Av. Los Leones for a younger public– with a lower building towards Llewellyn Jones street, for family apartments, larger and overlooking the quieter sector of the traditional El Bosque neighborhood. The main concept was to develop a single volume that contained the requirements described above, but which mainly responded with its different scales to the immediate environment. It sought to break and set back the closures at street level, integrating the gardens into the public space. Of great importance was to work the facades with protruding and receding elements, where mass plays a major role in the game of light and shadow that gives dynamism to the envelope.
