Promover el uso de la madera como elemento constructivo es el objetivo del tradicional concurso Corma organizado por Madera21, que este año invitó a desarrollar propuestas para un tema abierto, "Madera en la ciudad", sin definir un programa ni un emplazamiento. The promotion of wood as a construction element is the goal of the traditional CORMA competition organized by Madera21, which this year called for the development of proposals with an open theme, "Wood in the City", without defining a program or a site. Otra distinción importante respecto de años anteriores fue que la madera debía ser parte integral pero no excluyente en la propuesta, es decir, aplicada donde mejor fuera su desempeño y con la posibilidad de potenciarse y complementarse con otros materiales. En esta versión del concurso de Arquitectura –la número 12– el jurado revisó 44 trabajos presentados por equipos de estudiantes de las principales universidades del país. El jurado –integrado por Martín Hurtado, Raúl Ortiz Reyes, Pilar Urrejola, Yves Besançon, Cazú Zegers, Gonzalo Claro, Pedro Mege, Alberto Mozó, Cecilia Poblete y Paula Velasco– seleccionó como ganador el proyecto Nexo Urbano, desarrollado por estudiantes de la Universidad de Santiago. Another important distinction with previous years was that wood should be an integral but not exclusive part of the proposal, that is, applied where its performance was best, with the possibility of enhancement by and complementation with other materials. In this 12 th version of the architecture competition, the jury reviewed 44 works presented by teams of students of the main universities of the country. The jury –composed of Martín Hurtado, Raúl Ortiz Reyes, Pilar Urrejola, Yves Besançon, Cazú Zegers, Gonzalo Claro, Pedro Mege, Alberto Mozo, Cecilia Poblete and Paula Velasco– selected as winner the Nexo Urbano (Urban Nexus) project, developed by students from Universidad de Santiago.
