En los anticuarios de Av. Presidente Balmaceda con Av. Brasil, este parque propone soluciones arquitectónicas como estrategias que acerquen el oficio y la tradición cultural al espacio público. La propuesta identifica las fortalezas de la estructura preexistente: cuatro naves compuestas por una esbelta cercha metálica que transporta a la época industrial de la década del 30. Tales especialidades contienen un potencial nuevo uso, y puede ser habitado en la medida en que dicha estructura se complemente con una nueva. La nobleza de la madera contrastada con el acero y su vestigio industrial operan tanto estructural como simbólicamente: ambos materiales se embellecen por su contraste y sus rasgos característicos aparecen vívidos.
Among the antique shops of Presidente Balmaceda Avenue corner of Brasil Avenue, this park proposes architectural solutions as strategies that bring the crafts and the cultural tradition to the public space. The proposal identifies the strengths of the pre-existing structure: four naves composed of slender metal trusses that transports to the industrial era of the 1930s. Such unique structures contain the potential for new uses, and can be inhabited to the extent they are complemented with new ones. The nobility of wood in contrast with steel and its industrial character operate both structurally and symbolically: both materials are beautified by their contrast, and their characteristic features appear more vivid.
