PRESENTACIÓN PRESENTATION
Con un sólido estudio desarrollado por los académicos Horacio Torrent y Cláudia Costa Cabral, completamos un ciclo de tres artículos acerca del desarrollo de la arquitectura moderna en Argentina. La infraestructura urbana de las ciudades trasandinas está marcada por una valiosa concepción arquitectónica de sus edificios. Desde su estudio en Barcelona conversamos con la arquitecta catalana Carme Pinós, cuya oficina, fundada en 1991, ha realizado importantes proyectos en diversas partes del mundo. Interesante es su opinión sobre la igualdad de género en la profesión, la preeminencia que adquieren las grandes oficinas de ingeniería por sobre las de arquitectura y la poca reflexión ante la toma de decisiones que lleva a una arquitectura banal, entre otros temas. De nuestros socios mostramos siete proyectos: el edificio de la Cámara Chilena de la Construcción, de Borja Huidobro y A4 Arquitectos, mostrando a través de croquis su partido general para abordar la estratégica ubicación de su emplazamiento. De Edwards y Soffia, el edificio para el pre escolar del Colegio Domingo Matte Mesías, que aporta un interesante planteamiento arquitectónico en un angosto terreno rodeado de calles en el centro de Puente Alto. De Searle y Puga mostramos una acertada solución inmobiliaria para un edificio en un sector residencial de Providencia. También presentamos tres casas: la Casa Mirador en Tunquén, de Gubbins Arquitectos, con su espectacular ubicación sobre el mar; un refugio entre los bosques de Malalcahuello, delicada propuesta de Marianne Balze, y la Casa Alma Pampa, de Elton y Léniz, que se insertó adecuadamente en un consolidado sector de Vitacura. Cierra la muestra de obras el centro comercial temático Las Condes Design en Av. Las Condes, de CHEB Arquitectos. En la sección Arquitectura Joven destacamos a Tania Gebauer y Eugenio Ortúzar, quienes desde Chiloé reinterpretan la arquitectura propia de la zona. Del arquitecto Diego Rossel es la Tesis que mostramos esta vez: un prototipo digital y material de estructuras adaptables que permite habitar terrenos inhóspitos. En concursos presentamos el Teatro de las Artes de Panguipulli, organizado por la AOA y ganado por Tomás Villalón, Nicolás Norero y Leonardo Quinteros; el Centro Antártico Internacional en Punta Arenas, ganado por Alberto Moletto, Cristóbal Tirado, Sebastián Hernández y Danilo Lagos, y tres concursos dirigidos a estudiantes: Corma, CAP y CNPP. La directiva de la AOA y el Comité Editorial ya trabajan en los lineamientos que tendrá a futuro la Revista AOA, a fin de fortalecer su enfoque, enriquecer sus contenidos y masificar su difusión, sin perder su carácter de publicación gremial especializada. With a solid study developed by professors Horacio Torrent and Cláudia Costa Cabral, we conclude a cycle of three articles on the development of modern architecture in Argentina. The urban infrastructure of the Argentine cities is marked by an outstanding architectural conception of its buildings. From her studio in Barcelona we spoke with Catalan architect Carme Pinós, whose office founded in 1991, has carried out important projects in various parts of the world. Her opinion on gender equality in the profession is thought-provoking, as is her vision on the pre-eminence acquired by large engineering offices over architectural ones and the lack of reflection on decision-making leading to banal architecture, among other topics. We present seven projects by our associates: the building for the Chilean Chamber of Construction, by Borja Huidobro and A4 Arquitectos, presenting the sketches of the general concept to address the strategic location of its site. From architects Edwards y Soffia, the building for the kindergarten of the Domingo Matte Mesías School, which provides an interesting architectural approach in a narrow field surrounded by streets in the center of Puente Alto. From Searle and Puga we show a successful real estate solution for a building in a residential area of Providencia. We also showcase three houses: the Mirador House in Tunquén, by Gubbins Arquitectos, with its spectacular location over the sea; a refuge in the middle of the forests of Malalcahuello, a delicate proposal by Marianne Balze, and the Alma Pampa House, by Elton y Léniz, properly inserted in a consolidated sector of Vitacura. The exhibition of works ends with the Las Condes Design theme shopping center on Av. Las Condes, by CHEB Arquitectos. In the Young Architecture section, we highlight Tania Gebauer and Eugenio Ortúzar, who reinterpret the architecture of their island, Chiloé. Architect Diego Rossel is the author of the thesis that we show this time: a digital and material prototype of adaptable structures to inhabit inhospitable terrains. In our competitions section, we present the Panguipulli Theater of the Arts, organized by the AOA and won by Tomás Villalón, Nicolás Norero and Leonardo Quinteros; the International Antarctic Center in Punta Arenas, won by Alberto Moletto, Cristóbal Tirado, Sebastián Hernández and Danilo Lagos, and three student competitions: Corma, CAP and CNPP. The board of the AOA and the Editorial Committee already work on the guidelines for the future AOA Magazine, to strengthen its focus, enrich its contents and massify its dissemination, without losing its character as a specialized trade publication.
