Medalla al Aporte Institucional a la Arquitectura Medal for Institutional Contribution to Architecture INACAP
En los últimos 18 años, la institución ha construido o remodelado la infraestructura de sus 26 sedes, en el marco de un proyecto que permitirá que para 2020 llegue a 29 centros con una superficie construida del orden de los 440.000 m². Este proceso se vincula al programa de la calidad educativa, por tanto los valores y objetivos que animan el diseño y construcción de sus sedes se fundan en la idea de que el quehacer formador de una institución también debe expresarse en la forma en que esta diseña, gestiona y mantiene los espacios donde los alumnos vivirán las experiencias formativas y las extracurriculares. "Los edificios también educan y deben expresar valores como la calidad, limpieza, orden y trabajo bien hecho, de modo que los alumnos los sientan como propios y después los desplieguen en su posterior quehacer profesional", afirma el rector de Inacap, Luis Eduardo Prieto, quien agrega que el desarrollo de la infraestructura obedece a un estudio profundo de las necesidades de su proceso educativo, donde los alumnos, docentes y administrativos son protagonistas. "Los estándares arquitectónicos responden a los métodos que se aplican en los centros de enseñanza más exigentes a nivel mundial. Nos interesa que nuestras sedes cuenten con espacios amplios, tengan una buena conectividad y acceso, así como una presencia destacada; que agreguen valor al lugar en que se emplazan y sean referentes dentro de la ciudad o comuna que las acoge. Por ello, el entorno físico es parte íntegra de la arquitectura de Inacap, donde cada proyecto es modelado en función del lugar donde está inserto y de sus particularidades (clima, orientación, contexto, etc.). Finalmente, y dado el imperativo de las instituciones formadoras de adaptarse a las necesidades cambiantes del mundo del trabajo, hemos diseñado nuestros edificios para que sean espacialmente flexibles, permitiendo la adaptación a las nuevas tecnologías que surgen constantemente. Así, es posible cambiar la capacidad y forma de las salas de clases dependiendo de las demandas educativas, siempre considerando un diseño sobrio, simple y minimalista". In the past 18 years, the institution has built or remodeled the infrastructure of its 26 venues, within the outlines of a project that will allow to reach 29 centers with a built area of around 440,000 m² by 2020. This process is linked to a program of educational quality standards, so the values and objectives that encourage the design and construction of their headquarters are based on the idea that the teaching philosophy of an institution must also be expressed in the way it is designed, it manages and maintains the spaces where students will experience their formative and extracurricular experiences. "The buildings also educate and must express values such as quality, cleanliness, order and a well done work, so that the students make them their own and then apply them in their subsequent professional work", says Luis Eduardo Prieto, the director of Inacap, who adds that the development of the infrastructure follows a deep study of the needs of the educational process, where students, teachers and administrators are protagonists. "The architectural standards respond to the methods that are applied in the most demanding teaching centers in the world. We want our venues to have open spaces, good connectivity and access, as well as a prominent presence; that add value to the place where they are located and are referential within their city or district. Therefore, the physical environment is an integral part of the Inacap architecture, where each project is modeled according to the place where it is inserted and its uniqueness (climate, orientation, context, etc). Finally, and given the imperative of training institutions to adapt to the changing needs of the working world, we have designed our buildings to be spatially flexible, allowing adaptation to the new technologies that constantly arise. Thus, it is possible to change the capacity and shape of the classrooms depending on the educational demands, always considering a restrained, simple and minimalist design".
Medalla AOA Arquitecto Joven Destacado AOA Medal for Outstanding Young Architect LAND ARQUITECTOS La oficina formada por Ángela Delorenzo y Cristóbal Valenzuela destaca por abordar los proyectos de manera multidisciplinaria, lo que se traduce en obras en que la arquitectura se cruza con distintas ciencias y donde el diseño medioambiental es clave. LAND Arquitectos nació en 2007, cuando ambos decidieron aproximarse a la relación entre las estructuras construidas y su entorno natural desde una perspectiva integrada y multidisciplinaria. "Nos desafiamos constantemente a que los proyectos que se gesten en LAND sean capaces de promover iniciativas medioambientales y/o sociales, que mejoren la calidad de vida de las personas y otros que habitan estos ecosistemas, utilizando como herramienta el diseño medioambiental a diferentes escalas. Cruzar la disciplina de la arquitectura con las ciencias naturales y sociales dicta la necesidad de integrar a otros profesionales, como ecólogos, ingenieros comerciales, sociólogos, hidrólogos, entre otros, dependiendo de cada proyecto", explican los arquitectos que, con un real compromiso con el medioambiente, profundizaron en este campo tras egresar de la Universidad Finis Terrae. Mientras Ángela realizó un Máster en Arquitectura del Paisaje, con énfasis en Planificación Medioambiental y Diseño Urbano (MLA) en la Universidad de California, Cristóbal obtuvo un diplomado de Arquitectura Sustentable en la Universidad Católica. En esta primera década de trayectoria, las obras de LAND, entre las que destacan la Casa Rambla, Spa Las Palmas, Casa Fingert Joint y el Colegio Santa Rosa, han sido publicadas en prestigiosas revistas de arquitectura, exhibidas en Venecia, Londres y Chicago, entre otras ciudades; y premiadas en la Bienal de Miami (2010), en los premios UFLO de Buenos Aires (2014) y por Architectural Record en New York (2017). En la actualidad, LAND se encuentra trabajando en proyectos de desarrollo inmobiliario de edificación en altura y planes maestros de bajo impacto medioambiental e inclusivos (desarrollos limitados) en la V, VI, VII y IX regiones; proyectos de reconstrucción post catástrofes –como establecimientos educacionales junto a fundaciones como Desafío Levantemos Chile– y de segunda vivienda, principalmente en madera. Adicionalmente, los socios son parte del equipo de la Fundación Chile Lagos Limpios. The studio formed by Ángela Delorenzo and Cristóbal Valenzuela stands out for approaching projects in a multidisciplinary manner, which translates into works in which architecture intersects with different sciences and where environmental design is the key. LAND Arquitectos was born in 2007, when both decided to approach the relationship between built structures and their natural environment from an integrated and multidisciplinary perspective. "We constantly challenge ourselves so that the projects developed at LAND are able to promote environmental and/or social initiatives that improve the quality of life of people and others who inhabit these ecosystems, using environmental design at different scales as a tool. Combining the discipline of architecture with the natural and social sciences dictates the need to integrate other professionals, such as ecologists, business developers, sociologists, hydrologists, among others, depending on each project", declare the architects, with a real commitment to the environment, deepened in this field after graduating from Universidad Finis Terrae. While Angela completed a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, with an emphasis in Environmental Planning and Urban Design (MLA) at the University of California, Cristóbal obtained a diploma in Sustainable Architecture at Universidad Católica. In this first decade of their career, the works of LAND, like the Rambla house, Las Palmas Spa, Finger Joint house and the Santa Rosa School among others, have been published in prestigious architecture magazines; exhibited in Venice, London and Chicago, among other cities; and recognized at the Miami Biennial (2010), the UFLO awards in Buenos Aires (2014) and by Architectural Record in New York (2017). Currently, LAND is working on high-rise real estate development projects and in master plans for low environmental impact and inclusive (limited developments) in the V, VI, VII and IX regions; post-disaster reconstruction projects –such as educational buildings with foundations like Desafío Levantemos Chile– and vacation homes, mainly in wood. Additionally, the partners are part of the team of the Fundación Chile Lagos Limpios.
