of the traditional standards of residential architecture. It is located on an irregular plot of land and is resolved as a volume that is sunken towards the street and opens to the north. The envelope, which comprises the entire house, is stripped of material pretensions and is shown in its most primitive form: built entirely of raw wood and resting on a concrete floor. (1) Today, Iván Bravo is focused on managing and developing projects with different agents, which allows him to approach the project from its genesis and focus his energy on design- ing without depending on a commission. This is the case of The Gauchal and Aladdin houses, both projects selected for the last Architecture Biennial held in Buenos Aires. Located in a private park, the Aladdin house unites residential and utilitarian architecture in a 30-meter-long triangular volume built on one-meter-high piles. The pro- gram is divided into two halves, one housing the entrance and wine cellar and the caretaker's house of the property. Due to the construction´s geometry, all the interior rooms have an identical section and a central corridor that runs transversally through the center of the project. On the exterior, the work presents a neutral and monochromatic facade that references the traditional larch tile structures of the area. (2)

(1) innovated construction techniques such as the mezzanine system that is a mixture of a slab with exposed molding as a finish. Behind this is an understanding of engineering that allows Bravo to be in control of the construction and technical aspects of his work, which he integrates into the creative process of each project to achieve the most coher- ent and efficient result possible. "For me, architecture and engineering are part of a symbiosis, they are two worlds that go hand in hand," he says. Since leaving the university, he spent much of his time in construction until, 2015, when he decided to devote himself entirely to architecture. The first commission he received was the Zupe house in East Santiago, which he built on pre-existing foundations, respecting the previous architectural characteristics of the site. It is a coarse, rough- skinned volume with an abstract and timeless character, which looks as if it has always been there. His second commission was the Orque house, in Colina, which is the result of an exhaustive purification exercise
