As we ring in the New Year, the Verdes Habitat for Humanity crew are all smiles . . .
The owners of build #28 got a big surprise for Christmas when they learned they were the winners of the Kurt Warner Habitat for Humanity gift (below). The Warners fully furnished a Habitat home for a single mother, and this year’s winner was thrilled.
The Verdes Habitat for Humanity project has raised $65,514 since July 1st. Our goal is $130,000, so we’re halfway there! Donations sent by April 14 can be used as tax deductions for 2024 or 2025. There are postcard-size informative pamphlets to pick up at the Rio Verde Post Office and at the Tonto Verde Clubhouse near the entry and library. Checks to Habitat for Humanity, Central Arizona / Verdes, can be conveniently dropped off at your HOA office. The homeowners for our current build, #29, were introduced at church services in December. They help with the building and are looking forward to the positive change that comes from being homeowners. If construction is your thing, contact Pete Sturman at Tonto Verde. He organizes the crew that carpools to the building site every week at sturmanpr@gmail.com. The walls are up, and the crew is great!
