Helping Virginia’s Transitioning Service Members Stay in Virginia Mission: The mission of the Virginia Transition Assistance Program (VTAP) is to assess, coordinate, and disseminate opportunities for members of the armed forces and their spouses transitioning from military to civilian life, thereby providing pathways to employment, education, and entrepreneurship. Key Activities:
• Peer to Peer support to transitioning service members and their spouses through assessments, personalized career coaching, referrals, and a variety of career networking opportunities • Outreach for the Commonwealth of Virginia, answering the question “Why Virginia?” • Partnerships with federal, state, local, nonprofit, and employers to provide the best possible resources to our service members and spouses by certified career coaches For more information on career coaching services or employment and transition workshops hosted by the VTAP team, e-mail us at vtap@dvs.virginia.gov, call us at (804) 786-8060, or visit our website at www.dvs.virginia.gov under Veterans Education, Transition, and Employment. Hosted by the Virginia Department of Veterans Services, Virginia Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and Transition Assistance Offices on military installations, these events offer opportunities to connect with Virginia companies looking to hire you!
