I ’ ve always compared the filling up of the Resort to the Swallows Returning to Capistrano. If you don ’ t get the reference “ google ” it. Sometimes some years see lesser amounts return than others, and so be it for this year in the Resort, but you can ’ t blame the weather! By all accounts of veteran Owners, there are more empty lots than the last 5 years. Whether that ’ s related to the US/Canadian dollar exchange rate, the fear of fickle early season weather of the last few years, the political climate of both Canadian and US governments, new City limitations on short term (30 - day) rentals, or other variables is not clear, but I hope it is not a trend that continues. If you ’ re not here yet, I hope I can see you “ fly ” in during the month of January. This season so far is best one weather - wise in the 5 years I ’ ve been privileged to be the General Manager. The strength of the Resort is its culture of enthusiasm, cooperation and celebration. Awaiting you is the emerald green of the grounds, the beautiful annual flowers, upgraded monuments, newly dredged #1 pond, with a new waterfall which will be operational after the first of the year. Please join me at the pickleball or tennis courts, swimming pools, around the golf course, at one of the many social events . . . and even in a “ golf cart conga line ”, as a parade snakes around the streets of the Resort and folks dance during stops in the intersection. Many memories await you and your family at this Oasis . . . I trust to see you “ Out & About! ” Ed Vitrano — General Manager

How To Call 911 At ORPS
If there is an emergency in the resort, have one person call 911 and have another person call ORPS Security.
When calling 911: • Give the address of the resort - 69411 Ramon Rd and the lot number. • If not at a lot, provide your location and if possible, a nearby lot #. It is very important to provide landmarks and the closest lot number. Examples: 1. Back 9 little golf course hole #6 Tee Box, near Lot 1092. 2. Main Tennis courts at La Palma Club house, near lot 334. 3. Satellite F in the south east corner of the resort, near lot 918 (if you don ’ t know north, south, east, west don ’ t give that info). The Fire Department maps don ’ t label all the areas of the resort, BUT they do show every LOT Number!! Providing the closest Lot number will give them the best chance of finding the emergency quickly. When calling ORPS Security: • Call 760 - 770 - 0065 • Notify Security of the incident location and tell them emergency responders are on the way. This is so the security staff can assist the emergency responders in finding the emergency. If the security staff at the front gate knows the location of the emergency before the Fire Department arrives, we have a much better chance of assisting the Fire Department in locating the emergency. The Security staff will never stop the responding emergency vehicles, but if they are ready for their arrival this will speed up the response.

HAPPY NEW YEAR from the A&A team! We hope you had a great holiday and we are looking forward to the new year. As Owners it is our responsibility to be familiar with the rules and regulations that can be found on orps.com. These rules and regulations are in place to ensure a safe environment and that our lots can reflect our individual tastes while maintaining an acceptable aesthetics and architecture across the Resort. We are a unique blend of individuals that all desire a Resort we can be proud of. If you are contemplating any maintenance or improvements to your lot (and in some cases your RV) the first step is to determine if you need a permit before starting any work on your lot. NO WORK CAN START PRIOR TO A&A COMMITTEE APPROVAL OF YOUR PERMIT . Please contact Julia, our A&A Coordinator, for assistance with your Permit application or to request a consultation with members of the A&A Committee. As a reminder if you are moving an existing trailer, stairs or dog house within the Resort you may need a Permit depending on the circumstances. Please contact Julia and she can provide guidance for your specific situation. I would also like to encourage you to work with Julia to safely remove any dead queen palms. This last summer took a toll on these palms as they thrive in a coastal climate and not a dry hot desert. A dead queen palm is a safety hazard and should be dealt with as rapidly as possible to keep you and your neighbors safe. Lastly the first of the year is a good time to replace the batteries in your smoke detectors. And I would encourage every Owner to have at least one quality fire extinguisher readily available. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact us. Thanks to everyone for your efforts to keep ORPS the beautiful Resort we all love and enjoy! Steve Farley – A&A Chair

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and although tournament entries are low, spirits are still high and we're all looking forward to the New Year. This January we will continue our usual Tuesday Scrambles and Thursday Best Ball tournaments. We will also have the String Tournament on the 11th, our second Nine and Wine on the 16th, and our 3 Club Tournament on the 25th. There are lots of opportunities to play golf during open tee times as well as participate in our fun and social tournaments. Throughout the month of January, we will have the morning shotgun wave and out afternoon shotgun wave. And as the days become longer, the opportunity for three shotgun waves in one day becomes available. Just a reminder regarding the late entry policy for the tournaments: If you decide you want to, or can, play in a tournament but the 12:00 p.m. deadline the day prior has passed, you will go on a waitlist and can only enter the tournament if A. Someone drops out, and B. There is a team with fewer people than the rest of the field. Just to be clear, this does not apply to the CanAm or the Club Championship. No late entries will be allowed then. Please feel free to stop by the Starter Shack for the tournament calendar or with any questions you may have. See you on the course! Thank you all for a fun month of golf!
Our Golf Committee would like to thank you all for a fun filled couple of months of golf, let us keep the camaraderie going! We are hearing lots of positive feedback on tournaments and open play. It is great watching everyone out there together with a lot of smiles and an occasional “ shoot “ or “ FORE ”. We have a vibrant golf community that thrives on active participation and engagement. We would like to thank Ryln, Golf Coordinator, for trying out new things to make our tournaments flow better and new games for Thursday ’ s now and then, new can be fun if you let it. Members feel motivated to contribute, get involved in the tournaments and support its initiatives. Our strong sense of community ensures a rich and fulfilling golfing experience for all. What a great place to be in. Stableford Tournament This fun - fill twist to the scramble format has us birdie hunting as they were worth 5 points. In this tournament pars, just did not get your team in the money. We had a good turnout for December, and for their efforts everyone got to enjoy a participation award, food. The thing about Golf We all play to have fun and enjoy the day, so do that. I even catch myself seeing things that I might disagree with on the golf course. What? Me! Yes, me too, but I found that it disrupts my own game to spend my time thinking about other players instead of my next shot. Let ’ s all try to be good stewards of our golf course by fixing our divots on the greens and filling craters on the tee box and please keep your golf carts as far away from the greens and tee boxes, as you can safely walk. Tee it up, line it up and keep - up, so we all can enjoy the greatest par three in town.

PAWS at ORPS Welcomes 2025 with Exciting Plans!
As 2025 approaches, PAWS at ORPS is thrilled to celebrate entering our second year here at Outdoor Resorts Palm Springs. Our mission remains the same: to integrate our beloved pets into our community while working together to make ORPS even more pet - friendly. This year, we ’ ve been hard at work with fundraisers aimed at installing a pet wash station right here at ORPS — a convenient and helpful addition for all pet owners. Most recently, we wrapped up our festive holiday parade, and we ’ re already looking forward to a couple more parades planned for the year ahead.
Another successful month here with Cornhole. The weather has been great! We have had a lot of new players coming out to learn the game and some of them have already moved up into the experienced division. Remember to always sign up on Scoreholio. If you do not have the app please come early with your phone and we will help get you signed up. Remember to come at least 15 minutes before play starts. Play times are Sunday, Wednesday and Friday's at 2 pm. Fridays are just practice and play with no tournaments scheduled. Looking forward to seeing you all!

At our December meeting, nominations were opened for next season ’ s officer positions. Additional nominations will be accepted during the January meeting, so it ’ s not too late to get involved.
Remember, our monthly meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 10:00 AM.
PAWS at ORPS is all about supporting our community. We offer assistance to residents who may need help with pet care, such as dog walking or pet sitting. Additionally, we ’ ve placed a donation bin at the dog parks to collect pet - related items for local animal shelters. Your contributions make a real difference to animals in need. Pets are a big part of our lives here at ORPS, and we ’ re committed to making them feel just as at home as we do. Whether you ’ re interested in volunteering, donating to the pet wash station, or simply learning more about our group, we ’ d love to hear from you! Visit our Facebook page, PAWS at ORPS , or reach out to our Chairperson, Jeff Sheldon, at Lot #2 for more information. Together, let ’ s make 2025 a year to remember for our furry friends and their families!

machine. He feels these machines provide good cardio workouts while simultaneously working your legs, arms, and back. Lots of bang for the buck! Eric recommends making fitness and exercise a priority otherwise, life will interfere with your workouts. If you miss a workout or two, or even a full week, don't feel like you have failed. This will only lead you to be less likely to resume. You ’ d be surprised how quickly your muscle memory comes back. In his spare time, Eric enjoys hiking, tennis, biking, riding his motorcycle, crosswords, following the news of the day, and dancing with his beautiful wife! To keep our gym maintained and having quality equipment, our committee will be hosting some incredible “ Fun - raisers ” (yes Fundraising), that will include new and interesting activities that will be sure to bring smiles and giggles to you and your family and friends. Mark your calendars: • January 7th is a Health & Fitness Seminar with our very own Kathy Barnard and her “ Save our Skin ” foundation. • January 11th is a “ Silent Disco & Family Fun night ”. • January 18th the Blood Mobile will be here. • January 24th is the PickleGolf tournament. Look for our upcoming events in the ORPS daily reminder, and on the digital screens.
Happy New Year!
Many people make a resolution, you like many others, might be considering how to improve your health? It could include the following: • Adding or increasing exercise? • Adding more protein and vegetables to your diet? • Drinking less soda or alcohol? • Eating less sugar? • Researching ways to reduce stress? • Committing to wear sunscreen daily? Maybe you can choose just one thing to work on. Make it something you can stick to. Some of us already started our health journey by attending our training day in the gym with our FreeMotion representative Tina Weidenkeller. It is exciting to see the number of people interested in using our gym. Tina shared information about our new strength training machines. We have two upgraded styles of strength training equipment. The first are the “ selectorized ” machines. Basically, this system selects the muscle groups that will be targeted in your workout. For example, the leg press and the hip adduction and abduction equipment only let you work on specific muscle groups. The other types of machines give you more freedom to move, target, and customize your workouts based on your needs. For example, the dual cable machines are adjustable to your height, and adjust the weight being lifted, simultaneously or not. This category of machine is welcoming for “ all ” types of exercisers. The seat can easily be moved up or down so that those who are in a wheelchair or have non - weight - bearing injuries can use the equipment as well. Our machines are recommended and used by many physical therapists. On numerous occasions, fitness committee members have been asked about putting together a training/ workout program for our renters and owners. This is a work in progress and hopefully, we will have some answers to your questions soon. Meanwhile, each month we plan to spotlight an ORPS fitness enthusiast. His\her picture and bio will be posted on our Health & Fitness bulletin board in the gym Our inaugural featured athlete is Eric Buckland! Eric makes lifetime fitness and exercise a high priority. Since the age of 6, Eric played numerous sports including amateur basketball, boxing, and competitive softball. He enjoys weight lifting, and high - intensity workouts and has even climbed a few mountains! For the past 5 and a half decades, Eric has been working out 4 to 5 times a week. That's dedication!

Many of us at ORPS are at the stage in life when health and fitness are very important to us. Just listen to our conversations when the question is asked, “ How are you doing today? ” It may also be true that we are at the season in life when we are concerned about our spiritual health and fitness, or maybe I should say that we ought to be. The story is told of W. C. fields the actor and well known agnostic that on one occasion a friend barged into his dressing groom to find Fields reading a Bible. Rather shocked the friend asked “ W. C. what are you doing reading the Bible? ” Fields sheepishly replied “ just cramming for the finals. ” At ORPS Chapel we are here to help you with your spiritual health and fitness. Maybe it ’ s time for all of us to be preparing for the finals. Our first fist chapel of 2025 is on January 5th at 8:50am and we would love to have you join us. It ’ s a good way to start the New Year.

The quilters and sewers are excited to become an official club here at ORPS with the new name of Sew ‘ n Such.
