On Sunday, December 27, 1936, at the start of the Conclave, Grand Polemarch Theophilus M. Mann gave a public address on radio station WOL where he summarized the Fraterni- ty’s origins, the origins of the Guide Right Movement, its evolution, and its impact on high school males. President Johnson welcomed attendees at the Public Meeting held in the historic Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel. The registration and business sessions were conducted in the Frederick Douglass Memorial Hall auditorium and the Closed Banquet was held in the school gymnasium. Social functions were held each evening during Conclave, including a post-midnight dance hosted by Gamma Tau Fraternity and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority; a reception by Phi Beta Sigma; a formal open dance hosted by the Xi and Washington (DC) Alumni Chapters; a dance hosted by alumni chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Zeta Phi Beta, and Delta Sigma Theta Sororities; and a smoker hosted by Chi Delta Mu Medical Society. Founders Diggs and Armstrong were in attendance. Alumni, Kappa, Alpha Delta, and Alpha Theta chapters as joint hosts. The Memphis, Jackson, Chattanooga, and Knoxville (TN)Alumni Chapters and the Beta Mu and Beta Phi chapters also assisted. On December 26, an open house was held for members, their wives,

and sweethearts at Club Del Morocco. The following day, the Public Meeting was held at the Fisk University Chapel with Dr. W.T. Rolfe presiding, Daniel P. Lincoln (Zeta 1922), West Virginia State College Registrar, gave the keynote address on the subject, “The Place of College Fraternities in World
