Shortly thereafter, he and his family joined The Village United Methodist Church and he continued to be involved in community service and influenced local and national politics. Watkins was a member of the National Trial Lawyers Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and the Dallas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He also held memberships with Friendship-West Baptist Church, the Circle 10 Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and the Prairie View A&M Alumni Association. Brother Craig M. Watkins is survived by his parents; Tanya, Chad, Cale, Taryn, Gregory (Amber), grand- mother Myretha Clark, and a host of relatives, fraternity brothers, and friends. ♦

Weath- erspoon is survived by his devoted wife, Debra (née Sterling) Weatherspoon; one adopted daughter, Ashley Weatherspoon with his late ex-wife Marie Slade Weatherspoon; three sisters, Cosette Weatherspoon West Kaufman (Julius), Giselle Weatherspoon Williams, and Nadja Weatherspoon Carr (Dennis); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. ♦
ible on January 6, 2024, at age 74. He was born on December 13, 1949 in New Orleans, LA. He was the only son born to Catherine Adauf Weatherspoon and Leslie E. Weatherspoon. He grew up in Robbins, IL, with his maternal grand- parents. Weatherspoon was educated in the Chicago City School system and attended Eisenhower High School before graduating from Walter L. Cohen High School in New Orleans, LA. Weatherspoon graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana and later earned a master’s from Tulane University. He loved the city of New Orleans. While he lived there, Weatherspoon served on the Board of City Trusts and counseled several Mayors on economic and municipal issues. He was truly committed to The Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club. Keith was a proud lifetime
member and reigned as King Zulu in 1990. Professionally, Weath- erspoon started in pharmaceutical sales before transitioning to stockbrok- ing. He worked for Bache Halsey Stuart Shields, then EF Hutton with a daily radio report on stock market activity. While transitioning to investment banking, Weatherspoon took a leave
of absence to work as a Special Assistant to the President of the United States. Upon returning to investment banking, he established Housing
Finance Agencies for munic- ipalities and states providing mortgages to low-income families. He later joined Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette as a Senior VP handling municipal bond
