G o t o S t r a ig h t S t r e e t .” This was God’s word to a devout Christian — Ananias. The word con tinued, “ Inquire of the man whose name is Saul for he is praying.” Ananias was startled. This was Saul, the persecutor, who had been sent to Damascus to persecute the Christians. Ananias wanted to be sure, so he raised the question with the Lord about Saul. God’s answer was “ go and do as I told you.” He went and found Saul and did as he was told. He laid his hands on him and prayed as God had directed, that he would be filled with the Holy Spirit. A miracle of healing and transformation happened that day. Saul became Paul — the chosen apos tle. The Lord depended on Ananias. A devout Christian living in the country, waking up early one morn ing, felt he should call on his neigh bor. He had a deep sense of appre hension that there was a serious situa tion in his neighbor’s life. After some hesitancy, he arose and went to the neighbor’s home some dis tance away, whom he found in serious trouble, on the verge of suicide. He brought peace and assurance and the man was saved. This too, was a man of God who went when he was told to go. Many such situations occur daily in nearly every community of this great nation. God may have just pre pared someone through circumstances and directs you to bring him to the place of decision. Like Ananias, you may be apprehensive about the per son’s reaction to what you will say, or concerned that you are not the right person to talk to him. You may also feel that this isn’t just the right time, that you should select a better time and present a better testimony than you could at the moment. You need not be concerned about any of these things. If God sends you, He knows and understands. Not only is the situation prepared, but He will help you to say just the right thing. Go at once. It may be an extreme emergency. It also may be the last opportunity that someone will have. God’s great problem with man is "Whom shall I send?” You, a dedi cated Christian, a soul-winner, have the answer — “ Here am I, send me.” I A PRIL, 1964
