inextricably linked with those of an other remarkable missionary family, the Grings. Herbert Grings, whose wife had died in Congo through her self-denying ministrations to a native woman, had brought his children to California. Later four of the Grings children returned to Congo as mis sionaries. Winifred Ferrel and Bob Grings were married in Congo, Irene attending the wedding. Martyred Biolan Irene Ferrel Irene Ferrel has been reported by rela tives. Upon hearing of her martyrdom in Congo, third-generation kin, Debbie Champlin and Danny Grings, both six years old, asked the Lord Jesus Christ to come into their young hearts, and save them. W ill they and others of their generation be among those to “ follow in the train” of Irene? May Irene’s death be used of the Lord to stir all of us to more effectual prayer for the missionaries in many lands who are constantly in danger in these days of turmoil. They remain on the firing line to the last and are the sworn targets of Communist terrorists, trained in the same anti-Christian ide ology as was the assassin of our late President. The mission stations need extra funds to evacuate missionaries from these danger spots. We are mis led if we entertain the notion that the day of the missionary — or of the missionary martyr — is over.
